Pride and passion vie for supremacy in this steamy re-telling of E.M. Hull's romance classic.
A haughty young heiress for whom the world is a playground…A savage son of the Sahara who knows no law but his own…When pride and passion vie for supremacy, blistering desert days are nothing compared to sizzling Sahara nights…
"There will be inquiries." I choked out. "I am not such a nonentity that nothing will be done when I am missed. You will pay for what you have done."
"Pay?" His amused look sent a cold feeling of dread through me. "I have already paid… in gold that matches your hair, my gazelle. Besides," he continued, "the French Government has no jurisdiction over me. There is no authority here above my own."
My trepidation was growing by the minute. "Why have you done this? Why have you brought me here?"
"Why?" He repeated with a slow and heated appraisal that made me acutely, almost painfully, conscious of my sex. "Bon Dieu! Are you not woman enough to know?"

Teaser 1:
“My heart stood still. "But why me?" I choked out.
He dipped his head to murmur in my ear. "It was fated. I saw you once before—in Paris. You were surrounded by your panting lapdogs and would have none of them. It was then I knew that I alone would have you. The rest was Allah's will," he continued matter-of-factly. "You came to Biskra. You arranged a tour in the desert. You were bored and wanted adventure. I have granted that wish." He flashed a feral smile. "And now you will grant mine.”
Teaser 2:
“Please!" I cried. "Will you stop toying with me and just get the business over with!"
He laughed and then ran his tongue across my belly. "But that is not my wish, ma chère. No indeed. It is my desire to make you bask in what you most despise. You wished to be a boy, but I intend to teach you the untold delights of being a woman.”
Angie J's Review:
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
So I was approached by this lovely author at a convention to read and review this book. Now again, I love classic literature....Jekyll and Hyde, Oliver Twist, Silas Marner, etc. So when Victoria told me she took a classic novel and "retold" it leaving out some not so nice stuff and leaving the bedroom doors WIDE open, I WAS SOLD!!!!!
So this book is about Diana, a spoiled rich brat who has men throwing themselves at her. She has been raised by her brother and has waited until she was "legal age" to be on her own. She decides to go to the desert for a caravan ride and see the world. She wants an adventure. The night before she leaves she turns down yet another suiter. She sees someone watching her but ignores it. HRMMMMMM......Later that night she thinks someone was in her room?? HRMMMM is she going mad? She shakes it off and takes off for the desert. She decides to get all moody and bossy with the caravan men to prove she is the boss not them. Well on the ride they are attacked and she is taken hostage while her caravan are killed!!! GASP!!! She is being held by a Sheik . Ahmed is a hottie and doesn't want to force anything on Diana. He wants her to submit to his will. She refuses. They two have alot of fun banter back and forth. Finally Diana gives in to the temptation and EVERYTHING changes. Ahmed, the Sheik, is kind, gentle and loving. Diana also feels like everything is changing between them. Can she be falling in love with her capture???? Is he feeling more for her???? What is the secret Ahmed tells Diana about her caravan attack???
However, the story cannot end so quick right? Where is the conflict? The plot drama? Well it comes in a big way. Diana tried to escape. The Sheik has to rescue her from his life long enemy. The Sheiks BFF, Raoul, tells Diana a MEGA PLOT TWIST about Ahmed...GASP what can it be??? (I will say it was a GOOOOD Twist and one that had me saying AWESOME!!!) I seriously want to write the whole plot down for you but if I do then you wont read it....*shakes my finger at the review readers* I know how you guys work :)
So I am going to finish this by saying words that will get you to one click buy this book....HOT STEAMY DESERT SEXY TIME WITH A BLUE EYED ALPHA MALE.......Yup I can see it already worked. Seriously don't let the fact this is a classic piece of literature scare you away. The novel is fresh and fast. The beginning was a little slow but you have to get to know Diana and the time period. I will say by page 50 I was rolling right along and through the story.
