Pieces of Perfect by Elizabeth Hayley

Pieces of Perfect

Blurb:
 Alternate cover edition of B00DU48LC2

ADULT CONTENT - Only Suitable for 17+.

As a sexy ex-hockey player, Max was the bad boy with something to prove. As a handsome single father, Adam was the man most women wait a lifetime for. Each man would take me on a journey of self-discovery that was marred with lies, jealousy, deceit, and a whole lot of fun. They each offered a glimpse of happily ever after, a piece of perfect. But in my constant quest to have it all, I would risk losing everything. Only one thing was certain. I’d never be the same after this

Angie J's Review:

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

Ok I LOOOOOVE books that give you high drama, naughty sex and then an HEA.  Well Pep's this book isnt going to give you a "True" HEA BUT the authors have promised a sequel with the HEA attached.  So be warned that you will have a mega, super, ginormous cliffhanger.  If you are like me, you will be left with tears and an upset stomach as well.

So this book stars out with Lily having a crap-tastic day and running into super hottie Max while boarding an airplane.  A quickie in the bathrrom of the airport and she leaves.  She says no names to him when he tried to get her name.  She leaves and thinks 'Wow Go ME!!"  until he shows up at her school.....ugh!!!  Well the book Lily and Max do a lot of screwing throughout the day.  They develop feelings but Lily will not fall for the "bad" boy.  She wants stable and someone who isnt a whore.....hrmmmm pot meet kettle.

Well Lily meets and starts to date Adam who is a dad of one of her students.  Adam is perfect "on paper" and she is making herself fall in love with him.  She feels happy when she is with him but once he leaves she feels empty.  She knows she doesn't deserve him.  While she is dating (no sex) Adam she is screwing Max's brains out.  INSANE!!

She tries to break it off with Max but is realizing her feelings for him are real too and that scares the crap out of her.  She can't have wild and crazy.  She needs stable and consistent.

I can't even being to tell you more about this book because the ending is soooooo giant.  It is EPIC people.  i was crying at naptime...i teach preschool people so kinda awkward for the kids that were awake watching Ms. Angie crying!!!!  Anyway, i have to say I am dying to read the rest of this novel.  I cant even tell you more without spoiling the ending....seriously read it please so I have someone to talk to about this novel!!!

Elizabeth Hayley is actually "Elizabeth" and "Hayley," two friends who love reading romance novels to obsessive levels. This mutual love prompted them to put their English degrees to good use by penning their own. The product is Pieces of Perfect, their debut novel. They learned a ton about one another through the process, like how they clearly share a brain and have a persistent need to text each other constantly (much to their husbands' chagrin). They are currently working on a novel centered around Lily’s roommate Amanda, and have plans to resume Lily’s story in a sequel to Pieces of Perfect. "Elizabeth" lives with her husband, one and a half year old daughter and nutjob of a dog. “Hayley” lives with her husband and her own crazy dog. They are hoping to adopt a newborn soon. Elizabeth Hayley's writing motto is best captured by the words of Patrick Dennis: "I always start with a clean piece of paper and a dirty mind."

Blog Tour of Save Me by LJ Baker

Save Me

Blurb:
Andi was doing just fine on her own. Sure the world had been hit with an outbreak that turned anyone infected into flesh eating zombies. Not to mention that everyone she ever loved was now dead. She was alive though, taking care of herself. She had little desire to indulge in building relationships with anyone. People just couldn't be trusted. Whether they screwed you over intentionally, or just managed to get themselves killed, no one stuck around for very long. She didn't need anyone else either. That was until Will showed up to save her.

Will, with his sparkling green eyes, lips you just wanted to taste, and insanely adorable crooked smile, wasn't letting Andi get rid of him so easily. Yet still, Andi did everything she could to push her feelings, and Will, away. The more time they spent together though, the more difficult that became. In a world where another day was not something you could count on, wasting even a single moment, could mean missing out on your only chance for happiness.

Book Teaser:

"Andi," He took my chin into his hand, gently lifting it to meet his sparkling gaze. "The last thing I want to do is leave you." A tear escaped down my face and he wiped it away with his thumb, pulling me against him. I could hear his heart thump loudly in his chest and smell that familiar scent so unique to him. I wanted to stay there like that forever, forget the rest of the world. Will took a long deep breath into my hair and nudged me back to look in my eyes. "You don't want me to leave, do you?"
"No." was all I could manage. I wanted to tell him I couldn't bear the thought of him leaving, that I didn't even want to leave the middle of this street for fear of the distance that had been between us this week would return. He leaned down closer, his breath warm against my face, his lips almost touching mine.
"Good." Will gave me one of his signature crooked smiles.

Angie's Review:
I received this book for an honest review.
I love Zombies.  I have read a couple great zombie novels by another author so I was excited to find another author writing about the same genera.

I really gave this a 3.75 rating but I rounded up :)

OK I must first say I am not a HUGE YA reader but I did enjoy this story.  When a fellow blogger mentioned needing some reviews of a zombie book with a love story, I said YES PLEASE!!  I love zombies love stories and the Walking Dead.

When I started reading this story it was a little slow to get going.  Andi and Will were kinda living in the same space and dealing with their reality. Then Andi is kidnapped by not very nice cousins who want her for "companionship" to put it nicely.  Will saves the day and then he and Andi have a "moment".  I was waiting for that first kiss but it didn't happen.  Then Will gets a bit douche and is pulling away.  When I get really angry at him is when JANET shows up....growl JANET!!!!  So they have a "history" and she is defo giving off the Will is Mine vibe to Andi.  Andi is sooo confused, as was I.  She thinks Will likes her but he is sleeping in bed with Janet at night??????  So I begin to notice I can't put this book down.  I am totally and completely invested in the book.  I will say I was shocked at how fast I got completely wound up and stressed!!!!  Which is the marking of a great book right?????  So anyway, the angst is ramping up and my emotions area alllll over the place.  When I am totally confused and stressed out over Andi/Will/Janet comes Dan....*rolls tongue back in to my mouth*  Dan puts the moves on Andi and Will gets jealous!!  WHUT!!!  I am like Andi and confused totally.  Well Dan and Andi talk and straighten things out.  When the Dan/Andi and Andi/Will and Will/Janet mess is finally revealed I was happy.  So I think Wow that was great but wait...there is still more to the story!!!!  So the 4 decided to make their way to a medical/military base to get support and maybe have a real life???  OMG then the story gets intense again......they get trapped by a horde.....OMG this was a great book but I am left kinda hanging as to the end....is there more to this story?  i hope so because I want to know what happens with everyone.....

Break Me by (Twinsie) Jo-anna Walker

**the book is on sale for 99 pennies friends**

Break Me (Shattered, #1)

Blurb:
 Running is always easier.

Tori McLeod moved to the big city to get away from her mother—and her past. Her new routine is destroyed when she meets a mysterious stranger who won’t take no for an answer. Sebastian intrigues her, but his eyes hold secrets she would rather avoid.

Sebastian Chelios, a hard as nails enforcer, is a new-in-town loner.

Sebastian has to have her. Control her. Possess her. But he can’t—won’t lose control, even though Tori’s innocence fascinates him. The last thing he’s going to do is love her, even after he gets her in his bed.

Losing control is dangerous, especially when someone from Sebastian’s past covets Tori, putting more than just her heart in danger.

How can Sebastian protect Tori from Jose’s sadistic obsession? If he gets his hands on her, will she make it out in one piece?

Angie J's Review:

OK SOOOO Yes I gave this 5 stars and yes I know the author and Yes she is a blogger friend of mine BUT seriously it is worth the 5 stars.

This book has my stomach in knots, my panties very wet and the tears streaming down my face.  OMG I was texting Jo-Jo throughout the ending chapters screaming about what was going one....Jo Jo has mad writing chops for sure.  She wrote a lot of mystery (what does Brett, Sebastian and Jose have in common), hot sex (omg the towel scene with Tori/Little One and Sebastian) and an amazeball twist ending.....I am stillllllll freaking out about it.........

The main characters Tori/Sebastian meet at a coffee shop.....Instant chemistry between the two of them.  They have a very physical pull but soon develop feelings for one another.  You meet Brett and think JACKASS but he is Tori's best friend Keisha's brother soooo you kinda gotta deal with him.  However, meeting Jose (insert evil music) was heart stopping.  I have met some cray cray people in my RL and lemme say I better never meet a real Jose.  He is the perfect "bad guy" and man I felt sorry for Tori and Sebastian.  Obsessed over Tori is Jose and he believes Tori is his but Sebastian screw up his chance to 'meet her first".....

Tori is a great character.  She is a great mix of foul mouth trucker and sweet innocent girl next door...interesting mix right!!!  Sebastian is a hot bad boy...tattooed, piercings and mystery man who makes sure that Tori (as well as myself) is hooked.  My favorite line was "I was broken til I found you.  You are my glue."  *swoon*

I cannot wait for book 2 in the series because I need to know what happens to Tori.  I also need to know about this yummmmmmy man named Garrith *wiped droll from my chin*.  Anywho people ya gotta get this book so do me a favor...click the link below and get this for yourself.  I couldn't put the book down!!!!!!!!

Melinda's Review:

This was a book I purchased and choose to read because one the author is a friend/fellow blogger and two the book description intrigued me.  I mean come on; Hard-as-nails enforcer, innocent girl, and some sadistic obsessed guy tell me you’re not a little intrigued.  I loved this book it took me on twist and turns and some oh I never saw that coming.  I found myself yelling at my nook at times, swooning at other times, freaking out sometimes and yes I even shed some tears.

This is told through Tori’s point of view so you are kept in the dark about a lot of things just like she is.  So yes you are just as confused as Tori like what is it exactly that Sebastian does, how does he know creepy psycho Jose (oh and I mean Creepy psycho as in I don’t think I have read another book with someone so creepy and psychotic), and how does her best friend Keisha’s brother, Brett, fit into all this.

I loved the scene in the coffee shop when Sebastian pinned her between her chair and the coffee table and did what he did just to see her blush.   This also gets the attention of Keisha and is how Tori and Keisha meet.  My second favorite scene is with Sebastian and Tori toward the end of the book.  I was so happy for them at this point and when you read it you will know what I’m talking about.

When this one ended I had cried and was gasping NO and then I saw the last line “To Be Continued.” found myself saying “Wait! What? No, that can’t be.”  I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book to find out what happens next.  I have to know what is in store for Tori and the rest of them.  Oh, my mind is running away with its self….. is it going to be something good, something bad, will I smile, will I laugh, or will I cry more.  The suspense is killing me, but I guess I will have to wait like everyone else for the next book.

Placed under his care, Avrum shares in his world of endless splendors. He must do one thing in return—look after Haven, a human and Lord Henri's newest rescue.

The simple task proves to be more complicated than it seems. Haven is disobedient, ungrateful, and hostile, yet she is beautiful and mystifying at the same time. He soon discovers that no one—from Lord Henri and Haven to his closest friend, Lysander—are who they seem to be.

Now faced with the truth, will Avrum choose to surrender to the man who rescued him, or will he have the courage to save the woman who captivated him?

Angie J's Review:

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

So why did I read this ya ask?  Well, I am a closet historical reader buff thanks to a friend.  I am also a freak about paranormal novels soooo a historical paranormal romance...ding ding ding...winner!!

I will admit I was a bit worried because historical romance + Paranormal = WEIRD but this book was great!!!!  The story is about Avrum who is Lord Henri's bitch basically.  I mean he does everything Lord Henri tells him because his master is a great guy...or so he thinks.  Avrum's bff is Lysansder who has alot of secrets going on through the novel.  One biggie is revealed at the end of the novel and I sure didn't see it coming.  Well Lord Henri is such an "awesome" vampire, he has "saved" Haven from poverty to be his meal.  He also kinda is bat shit crazy and thinks she is his lost love of 3 centuries ago.  Anywho, Avrum finds he is falling for Haven and she him but they both think they are crazy.  I mean how can he do this to Lord Henri who has done so much for him...Henri raised him like a father.  Haven is like "Stockholm syndrome" here.
He is a vamp like Henri.  I can't love Avrum.  Well the two end up having some "special time" together after Avrum realized the Douche Bag that Henri is.  They then hatch a plan to escape forever.

I don'ts want to give much more away about the story but I really enjoyed the book.  I started it and finished it in a day. I will say this book has alot of world building and can be a bit wordy at times but I still think it is a great read.

Crescent Chronicals Book #3 - Found By Alyssa Rose Ivy

Found (The Crescent Chronicles, #3)

Blurb:
Levi might be hot, strong, and have a cool set of wings, but it's not enough to make up for keeping Allie in the dark.

Allie's tired of being left with more questions than answers. She's tired of loving a guy who refuses to level with her. Most of all, she's tired of her life spinning out of control.

Desperate to save Jess no matter the personal cost, Allie has to face the possibility that the only one she can trust is herself

Angie J's Review:
I received this book from the author for an honest review.

ALLLLLLL righty!!  SO I am not a big YA reader...just not BUT I read book 1 and book 2 of this PN series AND WAS IN LOVE!!!!  If you recall I claimed Levi as my book boyfriend...I don't care he is much younger.  I am totally gonna cougar it up for him.

I love the characters and the world that the author has built.  It isn't a traditional Paranormal with Vamps, cat shifters, fae, etc.  These are shifters but the main characters are bird shifters.  I enjoyed this new kind of world.......

Ok so this book starts out with Allie and Levi, happy and in love...snickers Levi wasn't thrilled to find out he wasn't Allie's only paranormal lover.....But from the last book Jess, Allie's best friend, is being help captured by her ex because he wants Allie to pick him.  Ya see, whoever Allie "chooses" will be the new king with her as the queen.  Levi's family is in charge so IF she picks Toby, his family gains everything....not good huh.  Allie is under a lot of stress but I was glad she was finally over her "do I want to be with Levi forever" drama.  She know knows she is his and he is hers and she wants the "forever" with him.  OMG Levi's dream about his future queen.....man did i just fall in love with him even more.....

Well Levi is kinda keeping Allie in the dark and wont help her get Jess back.  He is scared of losing her...who can blame the guy.  Toby tells Allie she is "something" and it makes her begin to dig and find out.  What she is revealed to be is kinda cool and defo a great twist.  She has a LOT of power plus a LOT of new suitors.  Ya see Levi tricking her with his proposal didn't form a correct bond and soooo others are trying to sway her away from Levi.  Tricky situation for sure.

Well I am not going to give away the ending because it was a great turn of events what Allie does to save her friend and the man she loves.  I was very happy with the ending but *sniff sniff* was sad we didn't get to see the wedding......fingers crossed for it!!  I also hope that we will get books about Owen, Hailey and Jared finding their mates.....
