Book Blurb:
Some people will go to great lengths to get their research.
Riya O’Connell is working on her dissertation in Male Sexuality and decides to create a website called "The Barter System" where she requests applications from men around the country willing to participate in her research. She eventually narrows down her thousands of submissions to eight men.
They will give her viable data, cover her expenses while in their company, and ensure she reaches her next destination safely. In return, Riya will give them…whatever they want.
As her project progresses, Riya realizes she’s chosen the eight men in the country who would love her well and that she could easily love in return. Subject after subject is left behind with a small piece of her heart. Driven by her need to understand male sexuality, she refuses to quit no matter how difficult it becomes to keep going. Her presence creates a ripple effect over the lives of her subjects and paths cross that might not have been possible without her.
Finding where her heart ultimately belongs may be an education she didn’t plan on.
I added a bonus short story - just catching up with Riya and the M's - called "Lunch Break"...I think you're going to love it.
Angie J's Review:
The author offered her book to me after I asked to review it.
So I was excited to read this book, I will totally admit. It sounded interesting. Riya is doing a dissertation about male human sexuality to help her understand her father and his coping with the loss of her mother. I will say I knew there would be ALOT of sex. By ALOT I mean ALOT of sex with the 8 subjects she chose. As an erotica reader, I was on board with the reading. I was shocked when I felt myself wanting a little LESS and more talking...Snickers....Can't say I have ever said that before!!!!
I don't know that I can talk about the plot with out this review being filled with spoilers so I will keepthis kinda generic but please understand it is to keep from ruining the story for you. I love after Riya left each of the "test subjects" she was broken hearted. She fell in love with each guy and wanted to "do right by them" after she left. I loved what she did for each guy when she was gone. I loved that the men stay in contact with her and show up for her graduation. I also loved how she made sure to show the guys off in front of their friends. ....especially with Joshua and Victor. She made them infamous with their friends and family!!!!
My favorite men without even thinking, considering or rethinking the book are Victor the Fisherman and Lucas the Rancher. OMG Victor is such a teddy bear and sooo lonely. Riya comes along at a great time and she gets him to open up and make positive changes in his lonely life. Her confidence is what he needs. he needs someone to take charge for him and set him on the right path. *Sigh* I fell so in love with him........
now I had major tears in the section of the novel with Lucas the Rancher. His entire life he has "done the right thing" and he has been miserable the entire time. I felt so bad for him when he told Riya about his marriage/wife and their life. HEARTBREAKING!!!!! I fell in love with them and admit I missed him alot when she left him. I loved how she set his children straight when they disrespected him and her and their relationship.
The ending of the novel and she ends up with was awesome. I was a little sad she wasn't with Lucas BUT he was my favorite of the guys. Now I didn't dislike any but Lucas was my favorite. I feel the chose she makes at the end is a great pick for her and a hot read for me the reader :) come on the books so erotica so you know that its a hot read!!!! I also enjoyed watching how she was even able to match make for her father at the end of the novel.
Ok so my final rendering is that i enjoyed the book and hope that you give it a try especially if you are an erotica reader!!
