This is the 2nd book in the series but can be read as a stand alone however I would recommend reading book one first. Sily me is totally reading book 1 now :)
Wowzers, this book has alot of backstory that you find out about in book1. But if you, like me, didnt read book 1 you will not lbe lost. Angel does a great job filling in the gaps for you. So Zeke saved Ray-bird from the crazy human traffickers not once but twice. The two develop a great friendship and have alot of trust within their connection.
Well Zeke appears after being gone for 2 months on assignment and can't wait to see Rayna. Well, the first day back things get intense and friendship lines are crossed. Of course, after feeding Rayna a little bit of untrue information about his evenings plans, Zeke freaks and runs away. He wants Rayna to think he will be "loving" on another but not really.
Rayna goes to see her therapist and learns a few secrets about the hero she is caring for. They knew each other earlier in life and she can't wait to tell him. WELLLLLLL, she walks in after the session Z has with crazy stalkery chick Luna....growl.....and everything gets critical. The bad guys come back forcing Z and Ray-bird on the run. While on the run Rayna and Z find out that she is a true submissive after a few "lessons" shall we say...snickers.
The ending of the book is pretty awesome. Everything becomes clear on who and what the bad guys want and how he will be getting it. They also become clear on what Z and Ray-bird will do to be together even though he is pushing her away with everything he has......
