Now and Then
Brenda Rothert
Book Review by Brenda Wright
Book Blurb:
Now and Then
Now Emmaline Carson has settled into her career as
a graphic designer, though she’d rather be painting or shopping with her sister
Layla. But then – in the years before she went to art school in Paris –
she was a shy, awkward teenager with frizzy hair, a flat chest and a massive
crush on the boy across the street, Cole Marlowe. Too bad her incredibly hot
neighbor only had eyes for Layla.
Cole is now a confident,
laid-back attorney who’s even hotter than he used to be. He’s planning to stay
single while working his way up the corporate ladder – until he’s knocked off
course by a chance run-in with Emma.
Everything is different
between Cole and Emma now. He finally sees her in a way she only dreamed of,
and their hot chemistry is fueled by a growing friendship. But Emma’s deception
of her sister – who wants Cole for herself – and the secret Cole’s been keeping
for more than a decade threaten to tear apart what’s only just begun. Because
sometimes the only thing standing in the way of now is then.
I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review.
First off.....I. LOVED.
THIS. BOOK!!!
Now this isn’t your typical love
story. This is more of the love story
that you WISHED you could have. You know
how in high school, the big hot football star that you have a huge crush on, but
he dated your older, more beautiful perfect sister? Well yeah, that happened here, too. EXCEPT years later when Emma and Cole meet
again, she’s no longer that awkward, flat chested, shy girl any more. She’s HOT!!
Well Layla (the older sister) still thinks so, too. So, Emma doing what she always does – steps back
to let her sister “get her guy” again.
Well that doesn’t work for Cole!
He doesn’t want Layla.....he wants Emma. He can’t stop thinking about
her. She doesn’t want to hurt her
sister, so they try to keep it a secret.
Mmmmmmmmm . I just can’t say
enough about this book. You can tell that Brenda Rothert poured her soul into
this book! You can feel the emotions of
the characters. You know what each of them is thinking and feeling. I can’t wait for book 2 to come out on
10/1/13. It’s going to be Layla’s story.
