Music of the Heart (Runaway Trian #1) by Katie Ashley

Music of the Heart (Runaway Train, #1)

Book Blurb:

For Abby Renard, the plan was supposed to be simple—join her brothers’ band on the last leg of their summer tour and decide if she’s finally ready for the limelight by becoming its fourth member. Of course, she never imagined stumbling onto the wrong tour bus at Rock Nation would accidentally land her in the bed of Jake Slater, the notorious womanizing lead singer of Runaway Train. When he mistakes her for one of his groupie’s, Abby quickly lets him know she sure as hell isn't in his bed on purpose.

Jake Slater never imagined the angel who fell into his bed would resist his charms by promptly kneeing him in the balls. Of course, the fact she seems like a prissy choir girl makes her anything but his type. So he is more than surprised when after betting Abby she wouldn’t last a week on their tour bus, she is more than willing to prove him wrong. But as Jake’s personal life begins to implode around him, he finds an unlikely ally in Abby. He’s never met a woman he can talk to, joke with, or most importantly make music with.

As the week starts comes to a close, neither Abby nor Jake is ready to let go. Can a sweetheart Country songstress and a bad boy of Rock N Roll actually have a future together?

Angie J's Review:

I have to start by saying I had a riot "reading" this book. My friend Melinda read half the story to me while i was driving us to Nashville for a book signing with Katie. When he arrived at the hotel, I finished reading the book....awkward reading sex scenes to your friend...LOL.

I am going to say I love rocker books. This book defo didn't disappoint at all. I loved how funny and feisty Abby was. She is a 21 year old virgin who has a mouth like a sailor. My favorite line is when her brothers are mad that she is going to stay on a bus with bad boy rocker Jake. They yelled at her about it and she said she has only had sex with a couple of the guys but she had time to screw the others in a 3some. OMG I cracked the hell up. Abby is the perfect girl for Jake. She isn't star struck by him at all and could care less about who he is. Her brothers are rock stars and so she is over his famous person attitude.

Jake is a self absorbed rocker who thinks Abby is going to be another conquest. But then she drops the V card news....AND he is stunned. He tries to act like he isn't affected by Abby but everyone calls his bullcrap and so does Abby. Jake is a manwhore and wants to try and date Abby. Welllllll, manwhores don't loose their spots over night. Jake makes a few BIG mistakes (BJ by a skank waitress and sexing the groupie while saying he will "break in Abby").

Well needless to say the two do find a connection. They get to work on a relationship but the world is going to throw every possible bad situation their way from cock blocking fountains (Snickers), skanky ex girlfriends and family drama.

I love the way the when Abby and Jake finally do make a commitment, they are true to each other. I have kept my review very generic in a way because I really enjoyed the novel and want to make sure that you read the story for yourself. I am happy to report that the other band members in Jake's band will be getting books a well. Me and my friend Melinda had dinner with Katie and she told us that bit of news. We squealed with delight!!! LOL
