Book Blurb:
Devon Gallagher never
imagined she’d become the target of a stalker. But hang-up phone calls,
strange letters and a pair of her own shredded underwear drive her to
seek help from the one man she thought she’d never see again -- ex-lover
Rick Bergstrom. Although both Rick and Devon vow to put aside their
past together, as they work to unmask the stalker they discover an even
greater danger -- their still-smoldering passion.
Angie J's Review:
I received this book from the author for a truthful review.
So when I got this book I was fascinated on the whole getting your ex that you never got over to help protect you. I knew there was going to be alot of sexual tension because the reason they broke up was lack of communication. They had great sexual communication BUT not so much with vocal communication.
So the book begins with Devon shook up by a stalker. He has been sending letters but upped the game with sending her own underwear all shredded. That is enough for her to get a bodyguard who turns out to be the ex she hasn't gotten over. So Rick is quietly doing a happy cheer that Dev, the one who got away, is back but not thrilled about the reasons. Well the stalker continues to up his game by threatening her family, friends, and even Rick. As the stalker ups his game the sexual tension ups. There are a lot of stolen looks, a few stolen kisses and one hot make out scene off the side of the highway....*wiggles eyebrows*. I loved these 2 characters and kept yelling JUST DO IT!!!! The chemistry was crazy Crazy CRAZY thick. They both want to be with the other but have reasons for staying away.
The characters of Rick and Devon. I really enjoyed them both separately and together. The challenge each other to be a better person in ways. Devon learns to be more patient with Rick after learning family secrets. Rick learned that expressing himself was gratifying to himself and with communicating with Ms. Express-Yourself-All-The-Time.
The stalker...holy moly I had zero clue who it was and was stunned to find out the who and the why!!! I liked the stalker story line and why we felt Devon was someone who wronged him. I admit I kepting thinking 'this guy is it" or "nope it is sooo this guy" and when it was revealed I was floored because I was not even close. The end of the novel when the stalker, Devon and Rick have a show down was great.
I am a sucker for a epilogue and this one was great. I kinda figured some of it but still I loved the HEA ending that this couple soooo desperately needed. I would love to read another novel by this author because I think she writes very with great pacing and can build tension amazingly well. So do yourself a favor and click the link right under my review and add this book to your TBR pile.
