Lover Eternal, the 2nd book in J.R. Wards Black Dagger Brotherhood series. It is the story of the Brother Rhage aka Hollywood. He is GORGEOUS, like movie star gorgeous, and all the ladies know it. What everyone doesn't know is that he has been cursed by the Scribe Virgin with a beast that is unleashed when his emotions are not kept in check. Besides sleeping around and fighting lessers, Rhage has never found a good way to keep his beast at bay, that is until he meets Mary. The moment Rhage hears Mary's voice he is enthralled by her, totally drawn to her...it is literally love at first listen. From that point on he can not get her out of his mind and heart. Mary, however, is human and is dying of cancer and it is inevitable that her days left here on earth are very numbered. Through their journey together Rhage makes the ultimate self sacrifice to save the woman he loves and in the end the HEA is so sweet it leaves you with a heart full of joy.
Lover Eternal is one of my favorite books in this series. Rhage is such a male of worth and it shines through every single aspect of his story. You can not help but love him, he is gorgeous and kind and funny oh and he LOVES to eat LOL. When he literally stumbles upon Mary it is like all his best aspects are revealed. She truly brings out the best in him. I LOVE their love story! It goes without saying that the erotica aspect of this book is more then amazing especially with a male like Rhage front and center. With lines like "I want you liquid" you will defiantly be headed for a cold shower. That being said just like with all BDB books this one is so much more then just a sexy love story. There are glimpses of so many other characters and you get to meet my most favorite character to come JOHN MATTHEW.....OH *sigh*. Ward continues to build her world of the Brotherhood in such a magnificent way it only keeps getting better and better! When you finish with Rhage and Mary you will be excited for what is to come next because there are things left unresolved....not to worry though because Lover Awakened will be right there waiting for you just as it is for me right now with my re-read! I recommend this book 100% to anyone anywhere!!! Happy Reading!!!
