Blurb:
Daemon will do anything to get Katy back.
After the successful but disastrous raid on Mount Weather, he’s facing the impossible. Katy is gone. Taken. Everything becomes about finding her. Taking out anyone who stands in his way? Done. Burning down the whole world to save her? Gladly. Exposing his alien race to the world? With pleasure.
All Katy can do is survive.
Surrounded by enemies, the only way she can come out of this is to adapt. After all, there are sides of Daedalus that don’t seem entirely crazy, but the group’s goals are frightening and the truths they speak even more disturbing. Who are the real bad guys? Daedalus? Mankind? Or the Luxen?
Together, they can face anything. But the most dangerous foe has been there all along, and when the truths are exposed and the lies come crumbling down, which side will Daemon and Katy be standing on? And will they even be together?
Jo-Anna's Review:
This series is by far my favorite young adult series EVER! It's different, it's hot, it's funny, sad, emotional...everything you can have and want in a book, this series has it.
This is book 4 so I suggest reading the first 3 books. Now this review may contain spoilers for those that haven't read the other books but I'll try not to let it. I will do my best.
So this book starts where Opal finishes and thank goodness for that. The ending of Opal just about killed me and I didn't think that could happen since reading Shadows.
Katy is still trapped and that was awful to read. What she went through was heart breaking and then seeing Daemon's POV, the emotional distress he was going through just about did me in. Oh and I have to say that one thing I loved about this book is actually seeing things in Daemon's perspective.
So much happens in this book, from love to friendship, to heartbreak to absolute chaos. It was a major page turner and kept you on the edge of your seat through the whole thing. I don't want to say too much just in case people reading this haven't read the first three books.
There were times where I was not expecting something to happen and then it's like BAM! Jennifer is amazing at writing suspense and keeping you on your toes. I will be very sad when this series ends.
Who knew aliens could be so freaking hot?
