Amethyst Lakes is a nymph with a problem. She left her ex-boyfriend when he started to smother her. Nothing she says seems to keep him away.
Carl needs Amethyst more than he needs to breathe, but she just doesn’t get it. He’ll stop at nothing to make her stay.
An old friend and teenage crush will keep her safe until Amethyst can decide how to deal with Carl once and for all.
A pretty little nymph, crazy stalker ex, a cocky mage, and a whole lot of trouble.

Review:
I
was given this book by the Author to give a truthful review.
This book is a short story that
gives you some insight into Amethyst, a Nymph, past and sets you up for the
next book Shadows of the Past. Oh and you
get to see a little more of Preston which I like seeing this softer more caring
side of him, because he was kind of a cocky ass toward Fallon in In Too
Deep. Although I really liked Jess and
Fallon’s tough girl attitudes, I really liked Ame too. She is so sweet and you can tell she does not
like to use her powers. It makes her feel cheap and dirty when she uses
them. At the same time you can see
Amethyst has some spunk to her when she is pushed far enough. This is one of my favorite few lines in the
book that shows that when she is trying to get Carl to leave.
“No. You need to get a grip on
reality, and leave. We’re done. I can’t do it anymore. You said you would give
me whatever I wanted. Well, what I want is for you to leave.”
Carl, Ame ex-boyfriend, is a
manipulative warlock that can’t take no for an answer and doesn’t know when he
is no longer wanted. In the end of this
book he sets into motion a whole mess of things and I cannot wait to see what
happens and how everything ends up in Shadows of the Past.
This was a great short story and a
great way to introduce and get readers excited about the next book. Just enough back ground to get to know each
person and enough of a tease to want more.
I can’t wait tell November to read the rest of this story. This gets a 5 star rating from me.
