Love Plus One
Andrea Smith
Book Review by Brenda Wright
Book Blurb:
It had been a year ago that 19-year-old Lindsey Dennison's
life had taken an abrupt turn. While away at Cornell for her freshman year at
college, her parents' marriage had imploded. Lindsey learned the harsh truth
about her father, and his involvement in criminal activity that was the focus
of a major federal bust. Her father had slipped out of the country with his
lover and cohort in crime, Susanne, shortly before the FBI arrest warrants
could be served. He was now a fugitive from justice, deserting his only child.
Lindsey was left trying to pick up the pieces of the life she now realized had
been a house of secrets and lies for all of those years.
After her mother's marriage to Eric Slater, one of the special agents of the FBI involved in the federal investigation that occurred in their hometown of Indianapolis, Lindsey decides to start fresh at a new college close to where her mother, step-father and baby brother Bryce are now living outside of Washington, D.C.
Life is different now for Lindsey, but it is about to change even more. Her step-father's partner and best friend in the bureau, Trace "Taz" Matthews, is about to rock her world in more ways than one. Taz is nearly ten years older than Lindsey, but her initial interest in him is physical only. Lindsey has a problem that she is certain Taz can fix . . . but will he?
Despite their best efforts, Lindsey and Taz are tossed together by fate on more than one occasion, and this G-Man does not appreciate the distraction. There are complications for Sammie and Slate along the way as well. A risky pregnancy for Sammie requires the family to pull together and Lindsey's life suddenly becomes increasingly complicated.
There is a budding romance on the horizon for Lindsey with a wealthy, Ivy-League type guy she meets at school by the name of Kyzer Stanfield. Kyzer's interest in Lindsey does not sit well for Taz. When Lindsey must leave school to return home to help her mother, Taz is relieved that she will be distanced from the pursuit of Kyzer. . . but not for long.
Things are never quite as they seem. Lindsey will learn a brutal lesson about trust, compassion and strength. Taz will learn lessons about love, intimacy and honor, and that sometimes doing the right thing has consequences.
Warning: Explicit Sex, contains rape scene

My Review:
WOW!! How HOT is that cover!!
This book is the 2nd book in
the G-Man Series. I can be read as a
standalone – but honestly, it will be so much better if you read Diamond Girl
first. You will get a much better
understanding of everything that Lindsey and her mother, Sammie, have been
through. We meet Taz in Diamond
Girl. We only really see his “tough-guy”
image. He actually kinda scared me a
little at how “tough” he really was. I liked him because he intrigued me. After reading Love Plus One, I LOVE
HIM!! I have a secret (or not-so secret)
crush on him. He’s a young FBI agent,
hot, tough, and afraid of relationships.
He’s never had one and never wanted one......until he meets
Lindsey. He feels something right away,
but tries to push it away. Lindsey is
too innocent (in ALL ways – if you know what I mean) and he knows that she won’t
be able to handle him. He can be a
little “demanding” in his sexual needs.
This book is NOT just about the hot sex
scenes....and some of the hottest non-sex scenes I’ve read. WOW!
This book has a great story with edge-of-your-seat anticipation! You will laugh. You will cry.
You will feel like you are in the story with them! There is a rape scene involved. I don’t want to give too much away, but
Andrea handles it very well, in my opinion.
You don’t hear all of the graphic gory details, but you do have the
feelings of how she feels and how it affects her. I would not put this book aside because of
that. I did cry at this part, but only
because I could feel her pain and felt bad for what she was going through.
Overall, I LOVED THIS BOOK!! Highly recommended to all my friends! Andrea Smith is a new author, but you sure
can’t tell! She was meant to do
this!! She’s amazing!!

I was given this book by the author for a truthful review.
OMG AMAZING!!!!! I have to get my thoughts together for this review. First, when I was told this book was about Taz and Lindsey i was STOKED!!! Second, When I saw some of the snippets for this book, my vagina went bonkers!!! Thirdly, i was totally Team Slate after Diamond Girl buuuuut i may have to give him back his do-rag and jump on to Team Taz. He was such a hard ass hero. He was a total man whore but i still loved him.
Lindsey was such a sweetie. She has had the wool pulled off of her eyes in the past year from finding out about her parents marriage, the truth about her dad and her boyfriend is gay???? I mean poor girl. She desperately wants to loose her V Card but cant seem to find a guy willing to take it.
The first scene with Taz and Lindsey at her mom's wedding was hilarious and charged with a lot of sexual chemistry. Taz has no clue what it is about Lindsey but he cannot stop thinking about her.....believe me he TRIES with other women but Lindsey is always there.......
The couple finally find sometime to "be together" and decide it is just to "teach' Lindsey some skills.....she has her sights set on Kyzer from school as her boyfriend because Taz isnt BF material. My favorite scene is when Taz and Lindsey are "relating" to one another and he informs her that she was his....hawt. That is when the relationship takes a turn for the emotional......they are both realizing everything is changing and emotions are involved.
I have to say everything that Lindsey goes thru this book (and it is alot and i even cried a bit) and how Taz totally "alpha males" it is so sweet. He starts this novel an loving DB but a DB none the less. By the end of the novel he is a totally whipped and happy about it G-Man.
This books is such a great. fun, sexy read. If you loved Diamond Girl you will love this book. If you haven't read either, why the hell not!!!
