Book Blurb;
Wrapping his arms
tightly around her, Ashton pulled Roxy against the
chiseled-muscular-perfection that was his body. Waiting patiently for
her defiance to crumble, he lightly traced his lips over hers, beckoning
her like a siren. She could almost taste his irrefutable hunger when
she finally gave into him. A deep moan escaped his throat as she
trembled under his embrace. She gasped when he finally released her of
his enslaving kiss. Hitherto, Ashton never demanded that she disclose
her secret about the blood-lust urges that ruled her body. Even so, his
curiosity burned in his hauntingly exquisite, blue-green eyes.
“Who poisoned your heart with animosity, my beloved?” Ashton whispered so quietly she hardly heard him. “Silencing your urges by dirtying a knife with your blood is not a sight my soul can bear any longer.”
Once upon a time...
Two courts rule Faierie – the Seelie and Unseelie. Seelie faie are recognized for their illusionists and magic that mimics fantasy. The darker, wicked Unseelie are coveted for their extraordinary senses and trickery spells. Their rivalry flourishes between their courts, especially when seemingly random faie turn up missing and dead.
Accompanied by her guardian lover, Roxy is appointed to unmask the criminal mastermind. As evidence leads her back to the Goblin Territory – the very place where her destructive, blood-lust tale began – her guarded, dark past unravels. Unseelie accusations develop as she attempts to keep her secrets hidden. They scrutinize Roxy’s association with the atrocious goblins and suspect her murderous involvement. However, what’s more alarming than the allegations, is the growing suspicion and distrust in her lover eyes. With each clue uncovered, he gets closer to discovering the truth behind it all, which has unforeseeable consequences...
Book Clip:
“Because in this mystery, even the goblins see you as the prize,” Ashton answered before the Unseelie prince could.
“I’m no prize,” Roxy insisted.
“Time will tell, Doll. But, they either fear, desire, or hate you. If you aren’t leading them, then they are scheming against you and will wait until you screw up,” Alexander said and then flicked her hair again.
Roxy clenched her teeth together to keep herself in check. Otherwise, there might be the slight misfortune of someone getting spit on. She held herself together, until Alexander reached her wrist and then kissed the top of her hand.
“I do hope I win the prize in this game,” he muttered.
Moving faster than she could think, Roxy grabbed the switchblade from her waistband and swung at the prince. Ashton caught her arm from behind, igniting her blood-lust. Turning her toward him, Ashton braced her body against his. She thrashed against him as he clenched his hands down tight around her wrist holding the blade. Ashton positioned his leg between hers, and then forced her off balanced by twisting sideways. It made Roxy cling to him or fall on her back. She gripped his harness while he pried the blade from her other hand. He moved quickly and easily ripped the weapon from her grasp. Madness detonated inside her soul when he rendered her defenseless. She didn’t know where he put her switchblade; she didn’t care. Her thoughts were more barbaric. She wanted to hurt him – attack him – tear his body apart and bathe in his blood.
Ashton didn’t bother looking down at her, which infuriated Roxy even more. Instead he glared at the Unseelie prince. When she started to pound her fist against his chest, he stepped back and grabbed the back of her legs. Jerking her off the ground, he dug his nails against her skin.
She gasped as her intense anger shifted into a hunger for which there was only one way to satisfy. Ashton tore her skirt, freeing her legs freeing her legs from the restrictions of the pencil skirt. She eagerly wrapped them around him. Ashton pulled her waist against his as his hands slipped under the skirt that barely hung from her hips. Unable to contain herself, she slid her fingers through his hair. Twirling the locks around them, she twisted the locks into knots and then pulled him closer to her. Ashton glared at the Unseelie deepened when a gasp escaped Roxy’s throat. Her heart raced with uncontrollable fervor. Her hands slid up and down his smooth chest.
“She’s not a prize to be won,” Ashton said. Hate coated his compliment.

Angie J's Review:
WOW!! This book is a great addition to her series. It made me understand Roxy even more and I MAY even understand Ashton as well. The 1st book I was pretty much a hater of his. He treats Roxy pretty terrible and I disliked him immensely.
This book lets you see how Ashton feels for Roxy. Yes my Hater status was changed but still he is a jackass in the 1st book. This books you see the relationship between Roxy and Ashton plus a bit of Alexander throw in for good measure to shake stuff up....I love that Unseelie prince....MMMMMMM. So in this story there is a bunch of missing Fae. The person who is kidnapping and then killing the Fae is using Roxy's image or the Goblin Queen's image while they torture the missing peps. This book is such a fast read and it really does explain alot of situations from book 1. I have to admit I loved the demi's in the book. They cracked me up alot. I actually found myself more intrigued in to the world that Sarah has created. I can't wait to read more of the series.

I loved how you see Roxy hiding her magical abilities. In book 1 we learn she is a very magical Fae but to read how she is able to hide it even when others discover it was cool. i love that everyone thinks she is sooooo weak when in fact she is a major, ass kicking chick!! gotta love a heroine like that!!
