Lover Unbound is the 5th book in a series of AMAZING books!!! The Black Dagger Brotherhood is one fantastic read after another and this book does not disappoint. As I take my journey in my re-read of this series I am reminded after each book as to why I love these books as much as I do. The story of Vishous is one you wait for from the very beginning, you know that he is "in love" with his best friend and Brother Butch, but Butch is happy in love with his Shellan, Marissa, and you feel so deeply for Vishous because all you want is for him to also find his happily ever after!
From the outside it seems like Vishous won the evolutionary lottery with who his parents are revealed to be, but what looks good from the outside is not always a great as it's cracked up to be. He has not known who his mother was for over 300 years and when you find out you will be as shocked and as full of emotion as he is. Not only that but when his mother reveals his destiny to him, be prepared to have the urge to throw your book or e-reader because even the second time around when I knew what was coming, I was not happy for him. Also for a while now Vishous "gifts" of being able to read others thoughts and see into the future have dried up and this crossroads in his life must be figured out before he can return back to his normal self. When all hope seems to be lost for him a terrible accident happens and fate brings him to a human woman, Jane. Jane is one of the best heart surgeons there is anywhere but when it comes to fixing Vishous heart she has no idea that she will be doing more then cutting and suturing. The journey they take together is one that will withstand the test of time and destiny and in the end although some find it very controversial, I find it beautiful and perfect!
As with all BDB books there is a lot of story going on behind the story. This book is exactly the same way. You get to see a lot of the Brother, Phury, parts of him you have not seen before. Also my most favorite character John Matthew reaches his transition in this book and you will NOT want to miss that and everything involved. You also get to learn more about the "other side" and the world over where the Scribe Virgin and the Chosen live. Lover Unbound is one of my most favorite books of this series and although I realize I keeeeeeep saying that after every book it is because it is true. The story of Vishous and Jane is a good one and one that you have been waiting for since Dark Lover, I hope you love it as much as I do!!!!
