Book Blurb:
Six months since the zombie plague struck, former librarian Roslyn Stewart has been holed up in a school with eight other survivors. But now the shelves in the school canteen are bare. The stranger at the gate has supplies that will ensure the group’s ongoing survival, but at a cost. He wants a woman.
Nick is a man with a plan. He’ll treat Roslyn like a Queen, devoting the rest of his life to protecting and providing for her. In exchange, of course, for sexual favours. It’s the deal of the century given the state of the world. But Roslyn doesn’t see it that way. The first chance she gets she attacks the ex-army man and attempts to escape, forcing Nick to contain her. And so begins his awkward courtship of the woman, with her chained to the bed for security reasons.
Chained like a dog and forced to spend her every waking moment with a creep, albeit a good looking one, Ros is determined to escape. When circumstances force them to band together against a common enemy their very survival depends on their ability to learn to trust each other. An uneasy partnership develops, but can a relationship with such a difficult beginning ever have a future?
The hotly anticipated sequel to Flesh, Skin is set in the same universe with a different set of characters.

Ok so this novel....Oh brother Nick.....well IF you read Flesh (If not ya better cuz its a hawt M/F/M story plus scary zombies are everywhere.) you will remember Nick was cast out of the safe community because they deemed him untrustworthy. So he has been alone, hopeless and basically spying on the pockets of people he has found. WELLLLL he sees Ros and BOOM goes the fly of his pants.....Yup thinking with the lower extremities.....SOOOO our hero decides to BUY her from her "friends"...sigh....really Nick? I mean Flowers and a can of Spam since they are starving might have been a better approach but......Well their "relationship" isn't so happy. WHAT you are shocked? I mean being chained to the bed with a gag ball doesn't help you form trust you say?? Well needless to say a bond does form along with some very hot sparks. Holy hell their first "joining" shall I say...what girl wouldn't want it THAT way *gulps ice cold water* cuz I sure wouldn't complain. Well Ros freaks and escapes because well...she is a typical hot mess of a women. Confused over why in the heck she did that with a man who BOUGHT her and held her as a hostage. (SMH! Dude he is hot and who wouldn't have given in at some point?? Must be the dang Stockholm Syndrome she was talking about.) Anywho, when Ros realizes she wants to be with Nick all hell breaks out. She gets chased by a herd of zombies and our hero is there in a flash but their little safe haven is now gone. So out on the run they go into the world to try and find someplace to survive.
Well at this point in the novel is when all shit really starts to happen. Nick and Ros run into some Super Big Douche Bags and things happen......Then they run to the safe community Blackstone where If you remember Nick is kinda hated. So when they find out that Ros was "purchased" he wasn't very well received AGAIN!! The last pat of the book was action packed no doubt. There was a point when I was reading I yelled "NOOOOO" and was soooo saddened. ....haha you sooo now I am gonna leave you hanging right??!!! Anyway, I loved seeing Allie, Finn and Dan from Book 1. They are working well together and help Nick and Ros. I am excited for where book 3 will go and I have zero clue who the hero will be. I THINK I have a clue about the female but EH who knows!!! All I can say is that this book is amazing and maybe even better then the 1st if possible!!!
Authors Posting:
First up, thank you to the Twinsie girls for letting me visit.
Now, we’re all here because we love stories of romance, right? I love a
happy ending. I love knowing everyone is going to get what’s coming to them at
the end of the day. I especially love that woozy stomach feeling of falling for
a fictional man. The hero. Heck yes. Let’s talk about him. I don’t mind a bit
of variety, but I have to admit, I have a weakness for tall, dark and handsome.
I like ‘em a little bit bad but still willing to go down on their knees and
grovel when the occasion warrants it. Love a grovel done right. Also, a sense
of humour is essential for me, because I’m a little crazy myself. So someone
that can laugh at life is a must.
Wait up. I’m starting to sound like I’m on a dating website, aren’t I?
Sorry. Bear with me a little longer, if you will.
So, tall dark and handsome with a sense of humour. Good in bed (duh, of
course) and clever. He has to have morals, ethics. He’s got to know the
difference between right and wrong. But what if he doesn’t quite hit the mark
in that department? Is that a deal breaker? What if he’s one to cross the line
now and then to get the job done? Oh, that murky bloody grey area.
(Warning: I’m building up to promo here. But you knew that, right?)
In SKIN, Nick stumbles upon a group of people holed up in a private
school. We’re about six months Post-Zombie-Apocalypse when this happens. The
world isn’t so shiny and bright. Now Nick has been alone for quite a few of
those months. No one to talk to, no interaction with anyone at all. He decides
to fill a van with supplies and take it to the school, offering to trade it for
a woman. Due to his snooping around while they were unaware, he knows they’re
running low on food. He also knows there’s a woman in there. A feisty red head
named Roslyn. The group in the school take a vote and Roslyn is effectively
voted off the island. SKIN is the story of what happens next.
Do you think Nick could make a good hero? He’s a nice enough guy, just a
little desperate. He means her no harm and he will certainly never force her. Still,
buying women....not cool. He’s handsome in a rough and ready way, charming...
sort of. He definitely has a sense of humour. But has he gone too far? Given
the post-apocalyptic situation, what do you think?

ReplyDeleteswtnslnt@live.com
Good luck, Karen!
DeleteI've always liked zombie movies, but their popularity has skyrocketed. I watched a show about the history of zombies and it explained how in troubled times the popularity of both zombies & religion increases. Really interesting!

Sounds fascinating, LM. Gotta love docos on myths and suchlike.
DeleteZombies creep me out....LOL but I have heard WONDERFUL things about this book from my Zombiebaby....so it is defiantly on my TBR list!!!!
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy it, Amee!
DeleteNEVER been a zombie fan until I met Angie J......lol
ReplyDeleteAngie, you are a very welcome addition to the cult of zombie. :)
DeleteI have always loved zombie movies/books/etc, starting with Night of the Living Dead. I think recently that the Walking Dead has really put the genre "on the map". Hot zombie material? No match for Kylie Scott! I start to drool when I think about reading her work! Great blog post again ladies - keep it coming!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Susan. I take your drool as a huge compliment!
DeleteI think Zombies are a fascination as is anything from the unknown. The mysteries of all the could be's and what if's always peaks the interests of the curious...as can a talented author!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Kirstie, I think you're right. The unknown really gets the imagination working overtime. Thanks for commenting.
DeleteI'm not a big zombie fan, but I love disaster books and movies with plagues, floods, earthquakes, nuclear disasters, etc.

Good luck in the competition, Becki!
DeleteI am not fond of zombie books myself, but i have to admit, this one looks DAMN GOOD! I think the reason a lot of people are reading zombie books or watching zombie movies is bc most of the world assumed when 2013 hit the world should of ended and if there were survivors they would of been zombies, searching for victims to feed on.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure why people love the zombie movies. I know I started from the video game resident evil... then the resident evil movies then it just spiraled out of control from there. The one thing I don't like is that in every movie or book (i haven't read these yet) is that there is no happy ending... the zombies win everytime. haha Maybe in Skin or Flesh it's different? I haven't read them yet! Hoping to win! It sounds delicious!

I think people are attracted to the things that we get to use our imagination with. I like reading things that help me escape. I'm not into zombie movies. Weak stomach lol but I like reading different types of books. Thanks for offering the giveaway! My email is kara2716@aol.com
