Angie S-J's review:
Ok so I read this book because my name is also Angie Stanton. I figure heck I love books so why not read an author who has the same name. Man I am thrilled I did. I chose this book because who doesn't love a rock star falling for the girl next door. I fell in love with Libby and Peter. I loved the sweet, innocent love story and sobbed crocodile tears when they were ripped apart (shakes my fist at Garrett and Jett). I am not a great big YA reader but I thought the story was amazing. The tragedy that poor Libby has gone through and continues to go through daily is just awful. She stays true to her sweet nature and wont let anything change her. Peter on the other hand has never found someone who he can trust likes/loves him for him and not rock star him. I felt bad because even tough he has all the fame he is essentially lonely like Libby. Their love story is gut wrenching at times. When they are reunited I will so happy and then screamed at Libby but thankfully Peter wasn't buying it. I for one would totally read another story from these two...since i am a newbie to this author I may have to investigate that possibility~~~~ Book Blurb: Marti Hunter hates rockers and anything remotely related to the rock-and-roll lifestyle. She thought she’d left that all behind, along with her drug-addicted mother and absent-minded rock legend father. Now she lives with her grandmother, and Marti’s life is finally normal. Just the way she likes it. For Adam Jamieson, normal is not possible. He is the genius guitar player of the band Jamieson. He’s ecstatic to finally get a two-week break from his micromanaged life and a chance to hang with regular teens. Adam’s shaving off his trademark curls and going undercover. But when Marti, the reluctant rock princess, and Adam, the undercover guitar wizard, meet, sparks fly in more ways than one. They spend their time alternating between making out and driving each other crazy. But their summer adventures of skinny dipping, storm watching, and stolen kisses are brought to a halt when tragedy strikes. Suddenly, they’re on opposite sides of the country, just when they need each other the most. Can Marti survive life with her dad and his vicious girlfriend? Will Adam get so fed up with his over-managed life and controlling parents that he quits the band? Angie S-J's Review: OMG I started this book Saturday morning at 7:30 and finished at 12:30. Thankfully the husband fed the children and took care of them because I was completely engaged in this book. I am not a huge YA reader as I stated before but these books just drew me in totally and completely. I loved Marti's fun and feisty attitude and the way she was relentless with teasing Adam/AJ at camp. Their love the two develop was very true to teen passion. The fact the issue of unprotected sex and the possible ramification are an issue that teens this day deal with. The author didn't graze over the issue either. The characters both knew what they risked with the fear of a child at 15 and 16 years of age could and would do to their lives. So anyway, I would and have recommended this series to my friends.e I enjoyed the sweet and innocent but true presentation of teen love/lust/passion. But I need Garrett to get a book because he needs to get his butt kicked by cupid!!!! HINT HINT !!
