Book Blurb:
This is the story of Claire Ryan and Evan Lang. 35-year-old
Claire joins a local book club for romance readers in order to get over the
breakdown of her 10-year relationship, there she meets book shop owner Evan, a
dominant man who has never recovered from the sudden death of his submissive
wife.
As their relationship develops and they embark on the path of Claire’s submission, it becomes harder and harder for Evan to keep his emotional distance. Claire is open and responsive and he wants her badly, but refuses to let himself go.
As Claire falls deeper in love with Evan, she realises that he is holding back and decides to end their relationship, forcing Evan to confront his own past and his feelings in order to save his new love.

Angie J's Review:
Ok so where do I begin with this book? I picked it up when I saw another author I enjoy list this book on her website. I figured 'Why not". The book is about Evan who refused to get over his dead wife even when he sees and falls for Claire. She herself is damaged from years of emotional abuse and physical abuse.
When the topic of BDSM was brought into the book I was excited because due to a certain trilogy, I have been reading more and more of those types of books. I have found I personally enjoyreading the BDSM books but have found much better reading/authors then the above mentioned trilogy. This book ,however, surprized me because instead of the actual actions of BDSM it is telling you about the correct way to begin a BDSM relationship. The characters spend alot of "getting to know each other" and "trust building" before anything sexual really happens. I found this really refreshing because I enjoyed seeing an author show the "responsible" side of D/s building especially with the fact that people are flocking to this life style without knowing whats right and wrong. Evan was very conccerned with Claire being "green" in the lifestyle and not wanting her already damanged pysche to meet up with a bad person using BDSM as a way to abuse a young, naive girl. So IF you are looking for just a book of naughty BDSM sex, this maynot be the book for you....yes there are realtions BUT the BDSM aspect is very light in comparison to toher books out there. I actually enjoyed the refreshing look at the new popular lifestyle.
