Year in a Review by Jo-Anna Walker

This year has been such a fantastic ride for every Twinsie. One of us had a baby, one of us became an author and our Twinsie family grew and grew. When Angie SJ and Angie WE asked me to join their review blog, I instantly jumped on the chance to be a part of it and then we got so big, we needed 3 more reviewers. How amazing is that? Because of all of you, we're where we are today. So for that, thank you! To each and every one of you. You all rock our socks!

Back in May of this year, I was lucky enough to meet Angie SJ and Melinda in PERSON! It was like we hung out every constantly.

I talk to these girls every single day. I love our little tightnip family and because of them, I am where I am today as a person and as an author. Thank you my Twinsie sisters!! xx

***

Here are my top 10 favorite books for the last half of 2013! Do you know how hard it was to just choose 10? So here it goes.

1. I have to say that my favorite serial novel of all time is the Phoenix series by Michelle Stevens/Red Phoenix. They are just heartfelt, uplifting, heartbreaking...amazing stories all around.

2. Now number 2. This is a given since this series has my #1 book boyfriend in it. Gideon Cross. Swoon. Even the name gives me shivers. Entwined with You by Sylvia Day is one of the hottest books I have ever read!

3. Walking Disaster cause hello? It has Travis Maddox in it! #2 book boyfriend on my list of many BBF's!

4. I added these two books to my list back in the earlier months but I have to add them again. Desert Rice and Desert Flower brought me into a world I had never experienced before. It made me feel things while reading I've never felt and it made me message the author and rant and rave about how much I absolutely loved these books!!

5. Hers by Dawn Roberston. I read the blurb and was blown away! I read the book and fell in love! If you like hot, dirty, raw, real type books then this one is for you.

6. This book by far is the funniest I have ever read. I laughed so hard, I cried. Read this one for naughty dirty humor. Every time I think of it, I bust out laughing. So not cool when you're by yourself in public.

7. Okay so Angie J and Melinda and I'm not sure if any of the other twinsie's read this book but love the books by Kendall Grey. So I finally dove in and bought Strings in paperback signed and ebook. Strings by Kendall Grey is probably the dirtiest, most raw, gritty, in your face book I have ever read and I love it.

8. I've read almost 90 books this year but now that I have to choose my top ten, I can't seem to remember what I've read. Bullet was recommended to me by Angie J and I fell instantly in love. It's a long one but it's filled with so much stuff, it couldn't be written any shorter. I loved it.

9. Now I'd have to say that if you love Red Phoenix's Brie series, then you'll love the A Week with my Romanian series by Steffie Dawn. Meeting My Master (A week with my Romanian #1) has made my top ten list because it allowed me to meet a wonderful person, a wonderful author and a wonderful friend. The books are hot!

10. Epilogue by CJ Roberts...look at the cover. Need I say more?

So those are my top ten for 2013. Each book has affected me in someway or another. I can't wait for 2014 and for the awesomeness that these authors will bring us. Thank you all for your hard work and keep up the writing!! xx

Surprising My Master (A week with my Romanian #5) by Steffie Dawn

In Bucharest as the fifth day of Ella’s adventure begins, the little sub is in for as many surprises as Master. Waking up alone near aggravates the submissive but gives her some time to prepare her body for him and a later lunch date sends her head first into a series of events that she wasn’t prepared for.

Master returns home from running errands to find his submissive waiting for him, he runs a scene he hasn’t planned on just because he can which in turn near makes them late for the surprise he has. We get together with Crina once again and meet one of Master’s long-time friends, his best friend and Ella’s given a little bit of freedom from Master, little does she know that it’s actually time for Master to prepare a scene that she wouldn’t have imagined in her wildest dreams.

Jo-Anna's Review:

I got sent this book for an honest review so here it goes:

I am a huge fan of Ella's story! And I totally have a crush on Master. As each story is read, it gets hotter and hotter. Props to Steffie for that!

In this next installment, we continue on Ella and Master's journey at bonding, finding out what makes the other tick and seeing their love grow.

The knife play? Holy balls batman that was hot and intense. Makes me very intrigued at how it would feel. It was written very well. I felt like I was there. I could see everything that was taking place and I love when a story does that.

And when Ella gets a tattoo? All I can say without giving away any spoilers, it that I want a tattoo like that.

Also, I think this next installment has one of the best threesome scene's I have ever read. It was hotter than hot! So hot, that I couldn't stop thinking about it all day and that's very distracting when you're at work. Lol! I won't say what part of the book it's in or who it's between but wow. *fans self*

I heard that the next part is the last one and although I'm sad to see this story over, I'm excited to see Ella get the happiness that she deserves.

Great job again Steffie!! xx

Obeying My Master (A week with my Romanian #4) by Steffie Dawn

Book Blurb:

Ella’s journey came to an unexpected halt when she had a run in with Master’s brother Vladimir but now her decision has been made and her journey continues but was it the right one?

Continue with Ella on her Bucharest adventure as she rediscovers herself with Master’s patient guidance and follow her as she learns the true meaning of trust, at his hands. Her mind continues to create inner turmoil, she doubts herself and her decision continuously but in the end, she knows what she wants and knows what it will take from her for her to get it.

Jo-Anna's Review:

The ending of book #3, I was like seriously???? You can't end like that!!!!

So we continue with Ella's journey at being a submissive. I don't want to give any spoilers but 24 hours of completely doing anything Master says? Wow. Just wow. This is by far my favorite of the series yet and I can't wait for more. It was intense, raw and I absolutely loved it!

This next installment is about trust and lets just say that some of things Master has Ella doing, makes even me cringe but Ella is strong and she gets through it and wow, the sex? Holy crap balls batman. *fans self* Makes me hot just thinking about it.

The only thing I hate about these books is that they end. Lol! Steffie always leaves the reader wanting more. She has a way with words that makes you feel like you're actually there. I just love these little hot short stories!

Join Ella as Master lets her in and our beginner submissive comes to a point in her journey where she doubts whether she can continue or not.

Extended:

What starts with the couple going back to basics suddenly changes when a knock on the door brings a surprising and unwanted guest. After Master’s revelation Ella feels she has more trust in him than ever before but that trust is suddenly tarnished when things take a horrifying turn. Ella begins to question her life as a submissive and faces a decision that she hadn’t expected to fall upon her. Will Ella make it to day four or will her submissive journey end here?

Jo-Anna's Review:

I absolutely loved this book! By far my favorite so far.

As you are aware, we are following Ella through her journey of submission to her Romanian Master (insert swoon here). If you haven't read the first two installments, then stop reading this right now. Also, if you haven't read the first two, then read them. Now. Anyways, so Master feels as though he has failed Ella as her Dom. *tear* There is a very intense scene where things unravel. I can't say too much without giving spoilers but holy freaking wow. The ending?? Oh my gosh. I can NOT wait for #4!!!

And hello?? Have you seen the cover?? HOT!

Steffie is amazing and I'm honored to say that I consider her a friend. Her books in depth and even though these novels are serial length, they so full of details and emotion, I feel like I'm there. I just love these books and I can't wait for more!!

Pleasing My Master (A week with my Romanian #2) by Steffie Dawn

Book Blurb:

EXTENDED

The second day begins with the newly collared Ella waking in the arms of her beloved Master. Still astonished, the submissive sees the morning through with an abundance of excitement, however, another trip outside the confines of the apartment brings more challenges and emotions than Ella could have anticipated. Meeting Master's friend allows Ella a greater understanding of herself but also leaves her with more questions about her enigmatic, close-mouthed Dominant. Will this unlikely couple make it to the end of the second day with a stronger relationship? Or will Ella’s unbridled curiosity get the better of her?

Jo-Anna's Review:

I've been very blessed in getting to speak with the Steffie about these books. As soon as I finished the first book, I messaged her right away and gushed about how much I love her book. I was lucky enough to get a ARC of the second book and I couldn't put it down.

Ella continues her journey with her Master or my Master as I like to call him. *cough* Don't tell Ella.
Again, he takes her on new heights but still doesn't reveal a lot about himself. He's closed off and I am very curious to find out what's going on in that sexy brain of his.

In this second installment of A Week with My Romanian, we meet Crina....she's another submissive and I don't know about her. She seems nice enough but...my hackles went up for Ella when Master kissed her cheek. I guess I was jealous for her. Gotta watch out for my girl.

Again I say, if you love Red Pheonix's Brie books, then you'll love Steffie's books. They are completely different but both of the authors are amazing!

Steffie had me entranced as soon as Ella stepped off the plane in the first book.

I can't wait to continue Ella's journey with her and learn more about Master. Great job Steffie and keep up the wonderful work!!

Jo-Anna's Review:

I got asked to do a review of this book by the author and the being a HUGE fan of the BDSM genre, I had to say yes and I'm glad that I did.

Ella travels to Bucharest to meet her Master for the very first time in person and wow...can we say HOT?? I really liked this book and I thought the author did a good job.

It's a short story and you see how them meet in person and they're interaction with each other. You also see Ella experiencing being a submissive in real life, instead of just on the computer.

My only issue is that I want to know more!! I messaged the author instantly and told her I was done and that I couldn't wait to hear more from Ella and her Master.

I really hope that they continue their D/s relationship and I can't wait for the next book!
