Kitsune Tales by TJ Rowser

Kitsune Tales (Gods, Angels, and Demons... Book One)

Book Blurb:

It’s been centuries since the last Great Other War that plunged the human race into the dark ages. Pulling away from the gods, and other creatures God had sent to watch over them, humans have made a go of it for themselves, trying to find their own path, and in the process they have changed the world from flat to round and created a universe to go with it. The gods, angels and demons are still there, but left behind, ignored, while the humans flourish. But the Others haven’t forgotten the humans….

Ki was content living her quiet, orderly little life on the outskirts of the city pack as a runt. She’d built up her own business as a freelance researcher and while she didn’t have much, she had more than enough for her. Then she wakes one morning to find that two days of her life are missing, supposedly spent with not just one man, but two, and she suddenly has breasts. Not to mention two tails when she shifts. If that isn’t bad enough, her apartment building catches fire and someone in the smoke wants her dead.

On the run, Ki finds herself in strange company, from Gods to mythical creatures, and sorting out who wants her dead from who wants her alive isn’t going to be easy. With a little divine help, and some old friends, she just might make it out of this mess alive, or lose everything before she even knew what she had.

Angie J's Review:

I was given this book by the author for an honest review.

WOW, AMAZING, FRESH, NEW, EXCITING, DIFFERENT, COOL and FREAKING AWESOME!!  Those are the words I use to describe this amazing new series.

So I was approached by the author for a review and I admit Paranormal is a favorite genera so I said sure.  Well this book is soooo much more then JUST a Paranormal.  It is totally a mythological book that pits our current God and Angels vs Norse Gods and their legends.  I love mythology so this book was totally up my alley.  I loved reading about Odin,Thor, Loki and then Archangel Gabriel all fighting over Earth and its control.   Now the Paranormal aspect is the fact that the main characters can shift into a animals.  I have to admit I feel like I am in on a super secret with this novel.  It is just so amazing.

OK the novel is a long novel at 451 ebook pages.  So if you are looking for a quick read this is not your book.  But trust me when I say invest the time.  This book is WORTH it.  I started it on Sunday and finished it Thursday.   I am a quick reader but the book is intense with information that I would stop reading and think about what I read.  I have to say I loved that fact it stuck with me and made me RECALL information I learned in school about these mythological characters or even recount my Bible stories about the angels.

Now so you know, this is the beginning of a series.  As with ANY new series there is world building and character building.  So do you get a lot of details and information?  YES!!  Do you need to read this information ?  YES!!  The author does a great job building the world, stories of the side characters helping the main heroes and heroine.

The story in a quick, quick summary.....Ki wakes up and has dreams of having sex with not 1 but 2 men who she doesn't even know.  She is the runt of her pack and was told she would never mature and go into heat but WELL she did.  She gets shot and goes on the run.  She gets her aunt to help her and that is when allllllll the characters start to find Ki.  She meets Loki and Hazel (who ,Like, cracks me up cuz she thinks, like, everything is totally awesome.) and then meets THE Wolves *wipes drool off the computer keyboard and fans myself a bit* Vali and Fenrir.  Well a lot more happens to her from being kidnapped, tortured, saves an assassin, saves a lost king......I mean people the girl does a lot of crap and has basically been raised as a human shifter with no knowledge of the "other" part of her.  HAHA You think I will tell you everything, heck no!!!

Listen people IF you think this book sounds good or are even kinda thinking "maybe", trust me.  Buy the book.  I really really enjoyed this book.  It is long and sometimes there is alot going on and alot of information being given but it all makes sense in the end!!!

Author Biology:

TJ Rowser grew up on a working farm that left her with plenty of time to explore her imagination while performing lots of physical labor. The older she got, the more that imagination expanded, and the less she liked the hard physical labor aspect. It took too much time away from the stories in head. Working through a string of office jobs, she found her niche in a helpdesk and settled down to raise a family while happily sitting around exploring the worlds that kept springing to life in her mind. When that wasn't quite enough, she started writing them down and sharing them out, which leads us here, to an author's page, and a book filled with the characters that knock around in her head on a daily basis. They (the characters) are quite pleased with the result and so is she, since happy characters make for a much quieter mind.

As secrets about her past unravel, Gemma’s life becomes threatened. She needs to figure out what’s going on, before she winds up dead. But the only person she can turn to for answers is the one person she isn’t sure she can trust.

Book Clip:

“Alex, I want to know something about you. Something real. Like maybe why you’re so hot and cold all the time? It confuses me.”
He shakes his head. “I can’t tell you that yet.”
“Then tell me something real.” I practically beg, because I need things to feel real at the moment, instead of feeling like I’m drowning in a sea of illusions.
He places his hand beside my leg, not touching me, but close.  “The first time I saw you, I was scared.”
That isn’t what I expected. “You seemed pissed.”
“I was pissed, too.” He scoots forward and our knees brush. “But pissed at myself for feeling the way that I did—the way that I do.” His jaw tightens and then his hand moves to my hip. “I was taught not to feel that way.”
My muscles constrict beneath his touch and every ounce of the comfort Laylen put in me singes into ash. “To feel what way?”
His lip part, then he shuts his eyes tightly. “Out of control. Lost. Confused. Terrified. I’m not supposed to let those things get to me.” His eyes open and I suck in a breath at the rawness they emit. “You want to know something real about me, Gemma? I’m empty. Dead. Completely numb inside, except for when I’m around you. I’m hot and cold because I try to fight my feelings, because that’s what I’m supposed to do—that’s the right thing to do.”
I think about what he said earlier: what’s right and what he wants. “Do you want to feel those things though?”
“I want to feel a lot of things.” His fingers burrow into my hip and I shudder as heat caresses my skin.

Galactic Burn by Mel Teshco

Galactic Burn (Alien Hunger, #1)

Book Blurb:

Humans have been almost wiped out. All the males are gone and only a few hundred females worldwide survived the devastation. The same deadly virus annihilated the female population of a mighty alien nation, and their three kings—Dar, Ezra and Maddox—are looking for one special female, Lillian, to capture and seduce.

Though Lillian survived, she has no memory and struggles with the fact that three alien men have become her lovers. One by one, they take her, make her burn for release and satisfy her every sexual need. She craves their touches, their kisses, their comforting embraces while forming strong emotional bonds with each. Lillian is falling for her sexy aliens and agrees to become their life mate in a special ceremony—her three males will make love to Lillian as all the surviving alien males watch.

But, as the ceremony nears, Lillian begins to remember. The aliens lied and covered up the horrible truth. Their happy, new life together might not be possible after all.

Reader Advisory: This book includes very brief M/M sexual contact involving secondary characters.

Angie J's Review:
I received this book from the author for a truthful review and truthful you shall get.

So if you read the book blurb you see that there is a reader advisory....well people scratch that.  The real advisory should say the following "Have plenty of batteries for your vibrators handy OR have a significant other ready to easy your needs!"  Yes crass, I agree, but damn if my hubby didn't enjoy the benefits of me reading this novella.

So "Lillian" finds 3 alien kings who are in need of a Queen.  The 3 aliens have a "alien type bond" that draw then to her on Earth.  I really don't want to get to much into the story because it is a really short, hawt read.  I am going to discuss characters with you.

Lillian is the female lead who has amnesia due to the virus that has killed the alien and human races.  She is one of the lucky few who is able to fight off the infection.  Her memory does start to return through the novel which does cause some issues with her and her alien loves.

Dar is the first alien you meet.  He is sooo very different from his people.  They are the kind that if  you see them on a street ya walk on the other side of the road.  He, however, is so sweet and cocky and very concerned with taking caring of Lillian.

Ezra is the "dark knight" or so it seems.  He is scary as hell when you first meet him.  he is soooo very different from Dar.  I kinda felt bad for Lillian because he was so intimidating.  However, his people are soooo liberated and free.  They are the complete opposite of Dar.  Also the M/M action happens when Lillian meets his people.

Maddox is the shy, quiet one that steals your heart.  I have to say he was defo my favorite of the 3 IF I had to pick one.  His people are nearly gone with only a handful remaining.  The bath scene, OMG it was pretty delicious I have to admit.  I totally want the "sponge" he used when giving her a bath :) better read if you wanna know what I am talking about!!!!

If you are a fan of erotica then this is a book that you need to add to the top of you TBR pile.  I think I am going to have to find time to read book 2 in the series.  One of Ezra's captains found HIS Earth  woman and I wanna see how that works for him!!!!

**Guest Posting by Amee P** Black Dagger Brotherhood - Lover Avenged

**This is Twinsie Angie E's male so loooook out if you are thinking he sounds fangtastic!!**
There they are soo in love as well.....
OH and don't hate this is autographed!!!

Lover Avenged by J.R. Ward

Book Blurb:
J. R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood novels have introduced readers to a "different, creative, dark, violent, and flat-out amazing" (All About Romance)world. Now, as the vampire warriors defend their race against their slayers, one male's loyalty to the Brotherhood will be tested-and his dangerous mixed blood revealed...

Caldwell, New York, has long been the battleground for the vampires and their enemies, the Lessening Society. It's also where Rehvenge has staked out his turf as a drug lord and owner of a notorious night club that caters to the rich and heavily armed. His shadowy reputation is exactly why he's approached to kill Wrath, the Blind King and leader of the Brotherhood.

Rehvenge has always kept his distance from the Brotherhood-even though his sister is married to a member, for he harbors a deadly secret that could make him a huge liability in their war against the lessers. As plots within and outside of the Brotherhood threaten to reveal the truth about Rehvenge, he turns to the only source of light in his darkening world, Ehlena, a vampire untouched by the corruption that has its hold on him-and the only thing standing between him and eternal destruction.

Amee's Review:

This is the story of the half sympath half vampire, Rehvenge. Not only does Rehvenge have two sides to him, he sort of lives a double life. Sympaths are known as a very dangerous species because of their abilities to reach into others minds and do nasty things, because of that they are banned to their own colony where even a half breed is to live. Normally a Sympath can be recognized purely by physical appearance alone but Rehvenge being a half breed looks more Vampire then Sympath and has always been able to live among the Vampire race. This is not without a price though because there are some that know of his Sympath side and who blackmail him in order to keep them quiet. This mysterious blackmailer has forced Rehv into a life he probably would have never chosen for himself. Rehvenge runs Zero Sum, one of the most popular clubs in Caldwell. It isn't just a club, however, drugs and sex are sold there but in order to keep his secret on the down low he really has no choice because he needs the money. Rehvenge is also the half brother of Bella, the Black Dagger Brotherhoods Brother Zsadist's, Shellan. Bella also does not know that her brother is half Sympath. The Brotherhood, however, has known for a while what is in Rehv's blood. Rehv is faced with a decision where he must choose to fall into his Sympath desires or not. The decision he makes will lead him to the fate that he is destined for in his life.

Because Rehvenge is part Sympath he has found the only way he can control his "sympath side" is to take dopamine, this helps him to regulate himself and calm his urges. Not without side effects though, he must walk with a cane and he can not feel much of his body. Normally in order to get his dopamine he visits the Vampire race's physicia,n Havers, who gives him a prescription for it, only because Rehv manipulates his mind to do so. When Rehv goes to visit Havers for his next script he is delighted because the nurse Ehlena is there to help him out. He always loves when she is the one who winds up in is room because out of every nurse there he has a thing for her. He is not shy about trying to get her to notice him and whether she likes it or not she does just that. Ehlena is a civilian and works hard as a nurse to take care of her father who has fallen to mental illness. She lives in a small house that she can barely afford but they make do. Little does she know that when she meets Rehvenge her entire world is going to be turned upside down. Their chemistry is nothing but total lightning, will that be enough for her to see past what is in his blood? Better yet what does he think about being with someone as pure as Ehlena, does he deserve her? Their journey is an amazing one that J.R. Ward sucks you into.

As you get a closer look into the lives of Sympaths in Lover Avenged as with all BDB books you get a look into so much more. You get a peek into the Moores or Shadows as they are Rehvenge's closest allies and best friends. You also get to learn a lot more about Xhex and her role in this world of the BDB. Speaking of Xhex this brings me to my most favorite John Matthew. As always, his voice is in there. He is becoming a fighter and a grown male who is trying to figure out his own life. John, along side his closest friends, Qhuinn and Blay experience some key things in this book. Wrath, the King, and Beth, his shellan, also have a very prominent presence in Lover Avenged as Wrath is experiencing some changes of his own that will in fact affect his future.

Lover Avenged is an amazing book that will keep you reading from beginning to end. It is one of those books you just can not put down. The first time I read Lover Avenged I read it in two days and for me that is uber fast! This being my re-read I read it just as fast and it was just as good this time around if not better! Reading about what happens with Rehv will only draw you deeper into the BDB and will only leave you wanting more!

**Guest Posting by Amee P**Black Dagger Brotherhood book 6 - Lover Enshrined by JR Ward

ATTENTION- This is no really Jo's favorite male but we tease her that Phury is soooo here is a pciture of her and her "favorite' warrior brother.
It is actually Zsadist.

Lover Enshrined (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #6)

Book Blurb:

In this "frighteningly addictive" paranormal romance saga there's a war raging between vampires and their slayers. Here are the stories of a secret band of brothers like no other-six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. And now a dutiful twin must choose between two lives...

Fiercely loyal to the Black Dagger Brotherhood, Phury has sacrificed himself for the good of the race, becoming the male responsible for keeping the Brotherhood's bloodlines alive. As Primale of the Chosen, he is obligated to father the sons and daughters who will ensure that the traditions of the race survive, and that there are warriors to fight those who want all vampires extinguished.

As his first mate, the Chosen Cormia wants to win not only his body, but his heart for herself. She is drawn to the noble responsibility behind the emotionally scarred male. But Phury has never allowed himself to know pleasure or joy. As the war with the Lessening Society grows grim, tragedy looms over the Brotherhood's mansion, and Phury must decide between duty and love.

Amee's Review:

On my re-read journey I was least looking forward to re-visiting this book because I will be honest the first time I read Lover Enshrined I did not love it. Don't get me wrong it would have still gone into my list of some of my favorite books ever, however, it was probably one of my least favorite of this series. BOY am I glad that I took the plunge and re-read this because I have a TOTALLY different view of this book now! This book is FANGTASTIC and it is filled with so much vital information for the series as a whole that re-reading it helps me remember a great deal of important intel! I think if you are reading this for the first time it is going to seem different for you then the previous 5 books because it is different.

Phury is a virgin and he has been placed into the role or Primale. (*SIDE NOTE* for anyone who is wondering Primale is pronounced like tamale but preeeeeee at the beginning.) Up until Lover Enshrined, Phury is portrayed at a very honorable male you have no real inkling that he has anything wrong with him. He is always there to help everyone! He saved Zsadist, his twin, and he took over for Vishous as Primale when he saw that Vishous had fallen in love. He is almost too good to be true, and very suddenly you find out that he actually is and he is not nearly as perfect as he seems. A side of him is revealed that truly comes out of no where, at first you are thinking what is going on but as the book goes along this side to him, I believe, is necessary for his personal journey. Since the moment Phury saw his twins shellan, Bella, he has thought he was in love with her. But she does not have the same romantic feelings towards him like she does with Zsadist so Phury suffers internally as he watches the two of them be so happy together. His love for Bella and knowing he will never be able to have her is one of the main reasons he agrees to take on the Role of Primale. When Phury first meets the Chosen who is to be his first mate, Cormia, he doesn't realize at first that he has in fact met his destiny. I LOVE Cormia, she is probably one of my most favorite females in this whole series. She has been breed to procreate for the sole purpose of continuing the Vampire race and she knows this is her duty, but deep inside she wants so much more then that for herself. Until Phury takes her to the "other side" into the real world with the Brothers, though, she has no idea WHAT more that could be. As she discovers that she also finds out who she is and who she loves. The journey for both Cormia and Phury is not an easy one and it is also not a fast one like it has been for some of the previous BDB couples but it is a good one. It is worth the wait to watch the two of them become themselves and take on their roles in the world of the Black Dagger Brotherhood.

As I stated earlier this book is not just about Phury and his HEA it has A LOT of other stuff going on!!!!! A vital villain shows his UGLY head in this book for the first time. The boys, JM, Qhuinn and Blay, all have very important roles in this book and the things that happen between them are going to become very important later on in the series. Also a lot happens with Rehvenge as well as you get to know Xhex better. Not only all of this but a very important thing happens when the fallen angel Lassiter makes his first appearance in the series.

I know that Lover Enshrined is not #1 on peoples list when it comes to the Black Dagger Brotherhood but I do urge you to read it and keep going even though it is not the same as the first 5 books and even though there is a side of Phury that will pop up from what seems like no where. Then when you are finished reading the series read it again because after the 2nd go I have a MUCH bigger appreciation for this book!
