Cover Reveal of Uncomplicated by Dawn Robertson and Jo-Anna Walker PLUS EXCLUSIVE Author Interview

Blurb:

Three days a week I work your everyday nine-to-five. The paperwork is never-ending. The pay is mediocre, and the office drama is simply intolerable. But the other four days a week, I am my own boss.

My name is Jennifer Sunshine and I am a Vegas Call Girl.
My clients range from frat boys on spring break to multimillionaire business men with stuffy wives and less than ideal equipment.

I don’t have a daddy-complex or some kind of sob story.
I don’t need the money, but it is nice.
The only thing I crave is the exhilarating feeling I get from being in control of something. Anything.

My life is uncomplicated, simple even.
That was until he bulldozed his way into my life, and everything changed.
Overnight he makes me realize how much I truly need him.

About Jo-Anna Walker:

I'm a new self-published author who just got introduced to the writing world early 2013. My aunt suggested that I write a story because I'm an avid reader but I waved it off and left it alone. Well this year, a story came to me and I went with it. It took me a little bit but I finally got a story idea that worked and now I can't stop or control the characters/stories that keep popping up in my head.

I'm born and raised in Canada and I live with my very wonderful and supportive husband, Michael. We don't have any children (yet) unless you count our cat. My hubby been my rock through this whole new experience for me. I couldn't have done it without him and my friends and family.

One of the many things I love about this new chapter in my life is that I'm learning constantly. It's never a dull moment and as long as one person likes my story, I am happy.

About Dawn Robertson:

Dawn Robertson is a twenty-something indie erotic romance, and mother. She lives in sunny senior citizen packed Florida, where she wrangles her kids, and Pitbull puppy.

Dawn can normally be found swearing like a sailor, making late night drive-thru appearances, arguing with her kids (or being run over by their power wheels), reading a steamy romance while hiding in her bathroom, writing her little heart out on her laptop (or dragging her Macbook to the Genius bar praying they can save her latest work in progress), or sipping on a smoothie. She loves to hear from her fans, readers, and authors alike. Feel free to drop her a message.

Dawn rarely takes life seriously, so be sure to expect heavy sarcasm from her. She is also the life of the party, so be sure to meet up with her at one of the many author events she will be attending in the next couple months. Buy her a shot of whiskey, and she will love you for life.

Interview:

Hello Lovely ladies!!!  Well I am super excited to sit and chillax with you both.  I abso LOOOOVE your work and want to get more peps interested in ya.  So I have some fun and “SERIOUS” questions for ya.  Are you ready?  Here we go…….

1.    What author would you want to sit and have a pick your brain session with?  They can be dead or alive and why?  Like how I made that a multiple?   *Snickers at the thought of multiples when these ladies are writing*

JW: Well FS, I know you know the answer to this question but for those that don’t, I would love to sit down with JR Ward. For one, she’s freaking hilarious and two, all of those hot alpha men inside her head? What person in their right mind wouldn’t want to sit down with her?? LOL!

DR: Well, Colleen Hoover would probably be one. Her books are like giant ninja mindfucks. As soon as you THINK you know where the book is going to go, BAM! She karate chop's your brain and sends you into a tail spin. I guess the same could be said for Molly McAdams. She would be another.

2.    Are you a panter or plotter when writing your stories AND since you are both writing this book together, how has it changed your process?

JW: Definitely a pantster. Luckily both Dawn and I are so that helps. Lol!
Working with Dawn has been an amazing experience. You should read our brainstorming notes. They are quite entertaining. Haha.
We bounce off of each other and throw ideas and for most of the time, we have agreed with each other. Dawn is so amazing to work with and I’ve learned a ton from her.

DR: I just write. I don't think about it. I just let the story flow. I always start with a general idea, and then just see where the characters themselves take it. Honestly, I have LOVED writing alongside Jo-Anna because when I think the book is going in a certain way, I get her chapter back and I am like... WOW! That is PERFECT!
It has been a learning experience, but an absolutely amazing creative writing exercise.
We will toss ideas, and timelines around. But nothing more.

3.    What authors do you read when you find the time to sit and read?

JW: Anyone. Honest. I don’t have a preference. But if you want me to list off some names, here I go. JR Ward, Sylvia Day, Katy Evans…so on and so on. If my Twinsie Girls love it, then I’ll definitely read it as well. You ladies have never steered me wrong yet.

DR: I read everything that is within the romance genre. I mean, for me the more sex the better but I don't need books that are complete smut. Recently I read an awesome book, Dear Emily by Trudy Stiles and love it. It was nothing I would have typically read, but I was so glad I picked it up!
I also love the hell out of Madeline Sheehan. I would have her babies. The offer is out there... You hear that Madeline

4.    If you could have written ANY book in the world, whether popular or not, what book would you have written? ANND Why?

JW: That is a difficult question. I don’t know if I would want to have written any book but pick the author’s brain and find out how they came up with the idea. If I had to choose though, I love the Real series by Katy Evans. Only have read Real so far but I’m in love already. There’s just something about the story that draws me and a million others in. I’d like to pick her brain and find out how she came up with that perfect male in our land of Book Boyfriends. J

DR: Oh gosh... I am a closet Narnia geek, and a huge C.S. Lewis fan, so probably that entire series.

Ok the lighting round questions, here we go……

1.    Favorite color?
JW: Well thanx to Mathis and Brett, I’ve been obsessed with the colour red. Lol!
DR: Bright Green

2.    Favorite snack food?
JW: Chocolate chip cookies baby!!!
DR: Cheesy Poofs

3.    Favorite drink (alcoholic or non)?
JW: Alcoholic drink: beer (any kind)
Nonalcoholic drink: coffee and water
DR: Sweet tea (Y'ALL!)

4.    Favorite Actor/Actress?
JW: Actor: Mark Wahlberg
Actress: Don’t have one specific favorite but I love Julia Roberts, Charlize Theron…Hilary Swank is an amazing actress as well. Sandra Bullock and Jessica Alba are super funny. See? Can’t name just one. Lol!
DR: Justin Timberlake & Jennifer Lawrence

5.    Favorite MUST HAVE item?
JW: Lip gloss. I can NOT go anywhere without them. I say “them” because no matter how many I have, I bring them ALL with me. Options baby.

DR: MY iPHONE!  I cannot live without it. I actually should have it surgically implanted into my hand.

Year in a Review by Jo-Anna Walker

This year has been such a fantastic ride for every Twinsie. One of us had a baby, one of us became an author and our Twinsie family grew and grew. When Angie SJ and Angie WE asked me to join their review blog, I instantly jumped on the chance to be a part of it and then we got so big, we needed 3 more reviewers. How amazing is that? Because of all of you, we're where we are today. So for that, thank you! To each and every one of you. You all rock our socks!

Back in May of this year, I was lucky enough to meet Angie SJ and Melinda in PERSON! It was like we hung out every constantly.

I talk to these girls every single day. I love our little tightnip family and because of them, I am where I am today as a person and as an author. Thank you my Twinsie sisters!! xx

***

Here are my top 10 favorite books for the last half of 2013! Do you know how hard it was to just choose 10? So here it goes.

1. I have to say that my favorite serial novel of all time is the Phoenix series by Michelle Stevens/Red Phoenix. They are just heartfelt, uplifting, heartbreaking...amazing stories all around.

2. Now number 2. This is a given since this series has my #1 book boyfriend in it. Gideon Cross. Swoon. Even the name gives me shivers. Entwined with You by Sylvia Day is one of the hottest books I have ever read!

3. Walking Disaster cause hello? It has Travis Maddox in it! #2 book boyfriend on my list of many BBF's!

4. I added these two books to my list back in the earlier months but I have to add them again. Desert Rice and Desert Flower brought me into a world I had never experienced before. It made me feel things while reading I've never felt and it made me message the author and rant and rave about how much I absolutely loved these books!!

5. Hers by Dawn Roberston. I read the blurb and was blown away! I read the book and fell in love! If you like hot, dirty, raw, real type books then this one is for you.

6. This book by far is the funniest I have ever read. I laughed so hard, I cried. Read this one for naughty dirty humor. Every time I think of it, I bust out laughing. So not cool when you're by yourself in public.

7. Okay so Angie J and Melinda and I'm not sure if any of the other twinsie's read this book but love the books by Kendall Grey. So I finally dove in and bought Strings in paperback signed and ebook. Strings by Kendall Grey is probably the dirtiest, most raw, gritty, in your face book I have ever read and I love it.

8. I've read almost 90 books this year but now that I have to choose my top ten, I can't seem to remember what I've read. Bullet was recommended to me by Angie J and I fell instantly in love. It's a long one but it's filled with so much stuff, it couldn't be written any shorter. I loved it.

9. Now I'd have to say that if you love Red Phoenix's Brie series, then you'll love the A Week with my Romanian series by Steffie Dawn. Meeting My Master (A week with my Romanian #1) has made my top ten list because it allowed me to meet a wonderful person, a wonderful author and a wonderful friend. The books are hot!

10. Epilogue by CJ Roberts...look at the cover. Need I say more?

So those are my top ten for 2013. Each book has affected me in someway or another. I can't wait for 2014 and for the awesomeness that these authors will bring us. Thank you all for your hard work and keep up the writing!! xx

Kink the Halls by Dawn Robertson

Blurb:

’Tis the Season for an inappropriate Christmas tale!

Seven and Levi are celebrating their first holiday together.
Star is pretending to be domesticated.
And siblings are banging each other.

Seriously, what more do you expect from the Seven James-Parker/Star Bloom crew?

One thing is for sure, this is a Christmas no one will be forgetting anytime soon!

Jo-Anna's Review:

I was given this book by the author for an honest review and thank goodness for that! I absolutely love Dawn Robertson. I think I messaged her right away after reading Hers and told her I had a girl crush on her. Lol! Now for my review.

If you love hot sexy smut then this is the book for you! This little spicy novella has a POV from every character pretty much which I loved! Poor Seven is fat and pregnant but I'm sure still beautiful as ever. Yes, I have a girl crush on her too.

Now, what threw me for a loop is River's POV. Levi was hot. Chrome is dark and sexy. River? Holy balls batman. I was NOT expecting the deep POV of that which is his. Angie J said that he is hers and I can see why. *fans self* Sorry Ang, you'll have to fight me for that one. Lol!

This novella moves the story along nicely and I enjoyed seeing Seven and Star finally happy with their families. Love love loved this book!!

Great job Dawn on another sexy story! I can't wait for more from you!!! xx

Angie J Review:

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

I LOVE THIS SERIES~!!!!!  I finished Finding Willow and jumped right into this fun and quick read.  The novel basically gives you a completed HEA for Star and Chrome plus Seven and Levi.  We have "missed" some action and so the reader gets to see a MARRIED Seven James!!  WHAT you say!!  YES MARRIED people to Levi, the man of her dreams.  This novel also lets us see a future for River.  He is such an amazing character so I loved seeing him have some "fun' in the story.  I actually would love to see more from him and his lady love.   Scarlett and Maggie are stoked about their family and hanging together.

Basically If you loved Hers and Finding Willow you cannot miss this book.  It was a fast book but i was cracking up alot...Seven's milk coming in...PRICELESS SCENE!!!   Star and Chrome's special gift exchange at the end of the book had me teary BUT THE BEST SCENE WAS River and his "lady" getting interrupted by Seven and Star.  GREAT CLASSIC scene!!!  In conclusion (snickers) I love this book and everything that happens.  I loved Seven relaxing a bit and Levi taking a bit of control.  I loved Chrome being uber alpha male for him girl and Star becoming Martha Stewart!!!

Angie J's Review:
I received this book from the author after my Twinsie Partner in Crime and i kept Pming her about how much we loved Hers.  We fell in love with these characters and NEEEEDED to read more.

So I must admit, I am in love with Star.  I really didn't care for Star in Seven's book.  I thought she was a shitty, mooching friend.....man was I wrong.  She is such an awesome person who has survived unimaginable cruelty and neglect at the hands of her "parents" and Seven's older brother.  I was really impressed with how Dawn was able to really help me SEE Star for the hurt person she is and really explain WHY she did alot of the things she did.  I felt so bad fro her because she was trapped in the same cycle of abuse until she decided to find her daughter.

Chrome is a bit of tasty on a bike.  Wow I kept picturing I was watching Sons of Anarchy.  I kept waiting for Jax to scroll on to the page and bark an order at him.  I loved hearing his story.  He is such a hard ass but boy does he fall fast and hard for Star.  He loves her for her , imperfections and all.  Isn't that true love?  to ba able to see someone with their flaws but find beauty in them anyway?  Well, I loved the support he offers her in form of a lover and friend.  He shows her how a "real" family can be and gives her a safe place to be Star...not Star the whore, Star the porn star, or Star the druggie....just Star.

So this book is all about Star looking for her daughter that she was forced to give up.  I will say when her parents talk to her about the baby, I was STUNNED!!!!  I also loved how Chrome just inserts himself in their lives and doesnt let Star argue.   I loved the holiday scene at the end.  I cannot wait to start Kink the Halls which is already opened up on my kindle!!

Oh one more "minor detail"....the sex was holy shit, panty melting, steamy, crack an egg on the sidewalk and cook it HAWT...just incase you were wondering!!!

Jo-Anna's Review:

So I got an ARC copy of this book by the wonderful Dawn Roberston. I think the begging finally helped. Lol! Angie J and I were both in love with Hers that we kept constantly messaging Dawn. Poor thing. So now, here is my review for Finding Willow.

First thing: I absolutely LOVED this book! It's probably one of my favorite reads of the Fall season and I can't wait to read Kink the Halls.

So I will be honest. I wasn't a huge fan of Star in Hers. I felt she used Seven and that really bothered me but by the end of that book, I felt bad for Star. I wanted to read her story and find out what truly happened with her and why she was the way she was. I knew going into Finding Willow that it would be a hard emotional read. We hear about Star and her drug addictions, her emotional battles, and her issues with Blue.

The book takes place in somewhat the same time line as Hers but you get to hear it in Star's POV and what she was going through. I really liked that. I enjoyed finding out what went through her head during the breakdown at Seven's apartment when Seven walked in and found her banging her brother and her boyfriend. In Hers, you know that Star feels guilty but reading the scene in Finding Willow, you find out just how guilty she feels.

Reading this book, I couldn't put it down. I felt so bad for Star and by the end, I truly loved her. I want to hug her, be a friend for her, a friend that she deserves. She may have made some crappy choices in life but she changes, for her new found family.

This book is also about Star finding her daughter, Willow. How that plays out is sweet. I don't want to give any spoilers but I really enjoyed how that ended and how Star got more of a family aside from just her daughter.

Blue...*growl* I can't stand that guy. I couldn't stand him in Hers but I couldn't stand him more in Finding Willow. You find out exactly what happened between him and Star and it's heartbreaking. I wanted to reach into the book and strangle him. He disgusted me but lets just say, he gets his in the end.

And can I tell you? Chrome?? Holy balls batman. I told Angie J that I claimed him! Definitely a book boyfriend to add to my list of many. He's a hot biker bad boy (reminds me of SOA) but he's also sweet and caring. When he comes back to Star for "more", you totally know he's smitten with her.

The sex?? Okay, the second sex scene on the bike is by far one of the hottest sex scene's I have ever read. I'll just tell you without giving away any spoilers that it involves sex with clothes on and a knife. Just thinking about it makes me fan myself. I loved it.

I loved this whole book. I couldn't put it down at all. I will definitely be getting this book in paperback when it's available and I can't wait to have this one on my shelves next to Hers. Starburst Bloom definitely deserves a spot on my shelf beside her bestie and I can't wait!

Great job Dawn and I look forward to reading more from you!!! xx
