year in review 2013 - Twinsie Melinda

Wow hard to believe 2013 has come and gone.  Now I have to narrow down some of the best books I have reviewed.  I was nervous when Angie J. asked me to be a part of Twinsie Talk in August.  Everyone has made me feel so welcome here.  Angie and I (or as we say Partners in Crime) have been to so many book signings this year.
We started the year off by traveling to Nashville, TN where we hung out with Tara Sivec, Jasinda Wilder, and Katie Ashley.  This started our tradition of me reading to Angie while she drove...I can not tell you how awkward it was reading some scenes out loud and yes, I do believe I was blushing at times. I was able to see Twinsie Angie Ellis in person for the first time also.
Our next road trip was an impromptu trip to Romantic Times in Missouri.  This was a crazy drive while reading to Angie she said "this sucks" I'm thinking is my reading really that bad.  I look up and no she is not talking about my reading, it is snowing and can I remind you it is May.  I was able to see so many authors at this and Kally's signing this weekend. I was in Awww I tell you.  Hanging out with Twinsie Jo-Anna was a big highlight.  Angie and I ate lunch while Lauren Stewart sat and talk with us.  We saw Jeaniene Frost in the hallway and asked to take a picture.  I was so fan struck she looked at me and said "she looks at me like who the hell is this" as I stuttered to get out I love your books and Bones too all the while the camera gets tossed into my hand and I take the group picture of everyone with her.  Yes, that means I did NOT get in the picture all because I was freaking out over seeing her.  Lesson learned DO NOT take the camera make sure you are the one standing next to the Author next time. I was also introduced to Leia Shaw, Sorcha Black, and Cherry Adair. Then we were off to Kallypso's Signing were we saw Kally, Alannah Lynne, Heather Rainier, B.A Tortuga, Julia Talob, and Chrissy Szarek. We even got to have dinner with Kally and other fans.
Our third road trip of the year was back to TN for Romfest.  We had a blast with Melanie Codina.  We decided to do some site seeing on a beautiful day when the sky decided to open up and pour buckets of water on us.  The best part of this was watching Melanie's reaction to the rain it was priceless.  Angie and I went all out on this trip, dressed up as grapes, decorated High Tea hats, even put on our best western outfits.  We were able to meet some great Authors but the highlight was meeting Sandy Sullivan.
Our final road trip of the year took us to back to TN once again to Indie RomCon.  I have to say I was looking forward to this one because I was going to meet Red Phoenix and this was my first convention as an official Twinsietalk girl.  We got to go to some interesting seminars and demonstrations.  Was able to see Kally again, Angie and I meet some great new authors and even some fans of Twinsietalk.

Thank you for letting me be apart of this ride.  It has been a great one and I cannot wait to see what next year brings and where it takes us.  Rumor has it the partners in crime are taking our road trips to the sky's next year.  Stay tuned to see what the TwinsieTalk Girls are up to next year.

His Tattooed Virgin by Heather Rainier

His Tattooed Virgin (Divine Creek Ranch, #12)
Book Blurb:
Jayne Sheridan intended to wait until her wedding night to give up “the goods.” One life-threatening illness and a decade later, she’s wondering if she’ll ever get married and if she shouldn’t just “go for it” now that she’s cancer-free. Her undeniable attraction to the town tattoo artist has her contemplating getting more than a tattoo.

Seth Carter has crammed a lot of living into his years and had his heart broken in a way that he believes is irrevocable. Jayne confuses and intrigues him but he doesn’t want her to look back with regrets, so he turns down her offer. He doesn’t count on the onslaught of jealousy when Jayne decides to take matters into her own hands. Jayne is his.

When the past treads on his doorstep, can Seth handle unexpected blessings and protect the ones he holds dearest to him?

Melinda's Review:

I bought this book on the recommendation of a friend then was able to meet the author at an off RT signing hosted by Kallypso Masters in Missouri this past May where she signed the book for me *squeal*.  Second note, I didn’t not realized this was a series until I was 90% threw the book, sooo now I get to go back and read the first 11 books.  Yes, that is how good this book was I want, no scratch that, need to go and read her other books.  This book most definitely gets 5 starts from me and more if they were available.

On the outside Seth is the Bad Boy poster child.  I mean come on, Tattoos, goatee, smokin’ body, rides a Harley, owns a Tattoo shop….. tell me that is not a Bad Boy.  Well good thing Ms. Jayne Sheridan, the Liberian, doesn’t read a book by its cover or she would never gotten to know how great Seth really is.  I love how sweet a loving Seth is and how kind and understanding Jayne is.  I also enjoyed seeing how their friends and Jayne jumped in to help Seth put the pieces of his life back together after his ex-girlfriend dropped by for an unannounced visit.

I just loved reading about the other couples in the book too and can’t wait to read their stories.  Heather Rainier has a way of hooking you into a story and not wanting to put it down.  I read this book in one day I just could not set it down.  Time to start reading the other books.

About the Author:

website

Heather Rainier lives and writes in South Central Texas. Her stories offer up the content of her fantasies, with autobiographical humor, triumph and tragedy mixed in.

Heather believes that life doesn’t always present love to us in neat little sanitized packages. Sometimes we have to seize the day, live life with no regrets, forget the past, never give up, learn to trust, and dare to live, even in outrageous circumstances.

When not happily typing at her keyboard, Heather is usually busy corralling her kids, volunteering at local schools, or loving on her smokin’ hot husband, who thankfully loves to cook.

Angie J's Review:
Hold the phones people, this was amazing and HAWT!  OMG!!! I read this book in no time because I couldn't stop.  I couldn't get enough of this couple.  Seth is defo gonna be in my dreams for a long, long time *wink and thanks Heather for this male*.  Seth is your "typical bad boy" image with his Harley and tattooes but so amazingly sweet and kind...the whole" don't judge a book by its cover" saying comes to mind  Jayne is a 38 year old virgin due to a choices/promises she made to herself and then dealing with a continual illness she hasn't been able to explore that part of life.  Jayne and Seth meet in book 11 but this was their book in the series. Have I mentioned how hawt Seth is.....WOWZERS!!!!  Ok so yeah I like tattooes and goatees and sexy men and...........*SMH* ok back to the review Angie........
I loved, in the books, the sense of "family" that all the characters bring to the novel.  Everyone is willing and ready to help when Seth has a little something delievered to him via his crazy bitch of an ex girlfriend, Tamar.....*GROWLS at the mention of her name*.  This story line definately shows the character that Seth is made up of because he doesnt think twice but jumps in.  It also shows how passionate Jayne is because she too jumps in to help Seth and protect him.  This couple is definately one of my favorites with all the books I have read.  I definately look forward to more Jayne and Seth in the future books in the series.
Ok so I gotta tell ya, if you are CONSIDERING this book lemme say I would definatley rank her -books in Hawtness to Cherise Sinclair.  Now I am a super-de-dooper fan of Cherise and am on her street team so I can tell you Heather writes some HAWTNESS!!!!!  Lastly, I would say "what the hell are you waiting for??" get on the link and buy the wet panty producing books?  I am also going to include the link for book 1 in the series for any peps who haven't read any of the books.
